Gas Is Only 27¢ In Woody Boaterville. Wooohooo! Let's Go Classic Boating.

,

With gas hitting $4.00 a gallon, I thought. Mmmmm I wonder what the price of gas was in 1941. Would I have bought this boat back then. So I did some Goesintas. ( Thanks Jethro) .

Gas was 19¢ in 1941. With the rate of inflation. That is $2.81 in 2008 numbers.

Now do the math on the extra cost $1.19 and that in 1941 numbers is 8¢ making the total 27¢ per gallon. That’s it.

So the way I see it, while I am in my 1941 Chris Craft, out on the water, living life, gas is only 27¢ per gallon. And I am fine with that. Now. Of course the gas station may not find any humor in my reasoning.
