I Would Like To Thank, Jesus, Apollo, Uriel, Punchau, Horis, Kinich Ahua,, Akua, Budda, and Whom Ever Else You Pray To For Weekends Like This Past Weekend.

If you live in the deep south you got dumped on, Texas folks, sorry, but I know you needed the rain.. Up north, the leaves are starting to change, and out west.. I have no idea.. But here in Reedville Virginia, the gods were shining on us.. For a change.. It’s been a very gloomy not sunny summer for us. BUT, this weekend…..WOW…70 degrees, no humidity, flat water, and gas was 3.80….NO ETHENAL to boot… So me and the Boatress set sail for putting some time on the old hour meter.. Thats right, Suzy the go to Woody Boat 1960 24 sportsman, now has 220 hrs on her.. If we are going to burn up those hours, make them great..

Leaving out to the bay after fueling up..

The Boatress burning up the fuel out on the Chesapeake Bay.. What an amazing day.

If she is happy, I am happy, and I was happy.

The weekend was perfect, went through two tanks of gas.. She ran perfectly.. That Vanness engine is a masterpiece..Alan Johnsons gold leaf snapped to attention..

But the day had to come to an end..And today is the start of a short week, looking towards this weekend and the Avon Breast Cancer walk that the Boatress and Woodys for boobies team will be doing.. We have raised over $15,000 and are proud to be a part of a worthy cause.. Click on the banner on the left and donate.. The team donate button is closed.. But you can donate to any team member and it all goes to the same place.

Beautiful pictures of Suzy and Suzy! I gotta wonder tho where you were to get those great shots?

If we all move to Florida, we can boat year round!

I spent most of my weekend putting stuyff away, and unsuccesfully trying to coax my ’46 Peterborough with ’46 Evinrude Lightfour to run long enough for a non-human powered water test. No luck, must now wait for spring. Still, standing in 62 deg. water in the wind trying to start the motor was not all bad. Looks like you had a great time, and just be glad you had the chance to burn the fuel.

Great work on the Boobies fund raising – everyone should be proud of their efforts. What is the story (continuing) with the burgees? Are they sold out?

i’m with woody gal…how did you get those shots…very innovative and beautiful. i mean it, how did you do it?

we are waiting for the st. john’s river to rise. not expected to crest until thursday, bummer…working in the barn getting things back off the floor in anticipation of the waters to come. thankfully, it won’t be as bad as 2008 when we stayed under for 3 weeks!

burn pile is now as high as an elephant’s eye with palm fronds picked up over the last few days (it sure as he!! seemed like a hurricane)…grr…i’m going to bed and curl up in the fetal position!

oh well, at least no earthquakes!

Praise Zeus! Awesome weather in Hessel too. We boated like we’d never boat again. Because that’s what it feels like come Winter in Northern MI.

It wasn’t the “Last Gasp” ride for us. But my breathing sure is becoming labored.

    Oh why can’t man hibernate?

It was 85-degrees and peak color in Minnesota/Wisconsin last weekend. And not another boat on the water. What’s wrong with these people?

Unbelievable. Saturday pushing 80 degrees on Greenwood Lake. Went out to the middle of the lake turned off the engine and did not get whiplash from bobbing around like a manic cork. Not many people out there on their boats alot less wake to contend with. It was a singular experience. My hats off to supporters of ….
    good works.

We were at Lake of the Ozarks last weekend and there were many boats on the water. A 28′ Sea Ray was much too small for the huge wakes created by the big guns. It was their annual Fall Harbor Hop/Poker Run and it was busier than the 4th of July. Crazy!
