Ineeda Is A Huge Hit!
On Wednesday we introduced you to Ineeda. Unfortunatly, Ineeda had to go to the Dr. yesterday, her bursitis flared up again.. so, we are very happy that you all were able to work it out between yourselves a day later. In fact many parts were exchanged wednesday and thursday. We got a bunch of requests to do it again. We had a quick board meeting and decided it was a good idea, as long as its about every 3 months or so. And some rules, since its not a classified section, but more of a way for folks to find something they are specifically looking for.
The good news, if you are looking for a part in person, in about two weekes, YIKES, you can show up to one of the best classic boat flea markets in the world at Lake Dora. Jim Staib of Fine Wood Boats alone makes it worth the trip. So whats your opinion? We dont want to turn into a swap meet here. One idea is to do a permanent link to this story and it just becomes a place to place requests? But it would need to be a more fun exchange help thing, In other words its only a parts wanted section, no selling? We have found that Woody Boater gets better and better because of your ideas, so type away….
Maybe INEEDA would let me install a photo booth in case YOUNEEDA picture with one of my friends?
The piece I have been seeking for years to make my Deluxe Runabout “all original hardware” is on it’s way to me from Lake Hopatcomg, NJ. That’s what I call successful!
I say do exactly what you did Tuesday, about once a quarter or maybe twice a year. If it is not the story of the day, it will not get the same attention.
Rules should be simple, like post a request or a reply. Any “I have x for sale” should only be in reply to requests.
i think that it should be scheduled in advance, so it is not one of the few “missed days”
by the way, check on the way to chuck for thermostat housings, and the bonus is that he might have other goodies!!

I think that 119 hits as of 8:05am is pretty cool. Definitely make it a feature three times a year with a week or two warning. Possibly one day a year project boat for sale day, yah know they aren’t making any more old wood boats anymore and it has to be kept under $2000.00 great way to get oe to a new home because I can’t do them all.
Great idea! Announce parts day a week or so in advance & let everybody post their requests or stuff. It was fun reading!
Oh, if any one sees a set of windshield opening brackets I’m still looking. What a fantastic event!
Cliff I have a set you could have (and a whole lot more…)… What is your email??
Great idea…Maybe four times a year Say, March 1st, June 1st, Sept 1st, Dec 1st.
Unfortunately I did not make a single sale. I did however find transportation for my engine block from Portland, OR to Chicago. Bad timing. I’m working feverishly packing my truck. Hope to leave for the river trip next Wednesday.
I would think of this as more of a last resort whereas “call Jim Staib” is pretty much the first thing you do when looking for parts.
Great Idea..
and for those that wish to use it as a “for sale” listing, should also be able to push the “DONATE” button
At least 4 times a year!!!! IMHO it should always be a featured piece. Permanent threads tend to degenerate or become hard to navigate quickly.
What I thought we were going to get a personal shopper for Dora!!
Just send your list to Matt and I’m sure he’ll find what you need down there. Of course he may decide what you need is a beer and chicken-0n-a-stick instead of the throttle linkage you asked for but those are the chances you have to be willing to take around here.
IMHO it should be an INEEDA thread, not a for sale thread. What a great idea, I loved looking at all the posts. Yawanna sell, go to Ebay.
Having an event every 90 days? Suppose I realized I needed a particular antique part a week after one of those “events?” I gotta wait 11 weeks to ask for one?
I’m in favor of a “wanted” page where Want Ads would be automatically deleted after 90 days. Sellers would simply contact the buyers directly. NO FOR SALE ADS!
Human nature. If it is up all the time, no one will read it. If it is the feature of the day every now and then people will read the posts.
I’m still trying to get over the news that Ineeda is a tranny. (And I don’t mean a transmission.)
INEEDA set of Edelbrock M1 marine exhaust log manifolds for a small block chevy.
