It’s Spring Tease Season!

A little glimmer of hope
Well, it’s that time of year again. When to start the boat up? Or varnish, or engine work, or just hold off a little bit more. Woody Purgatory, that place where you wait and see. The risk of course is getting her all going and then having to do a cold stop. And yet, kinda exciting, with hope, and dreams all in their fullest plumage. Of course there isnt some band playing music while we all do the waiting.

Pollen hell is on its way
You can go out into the barn/garage and take a little off the boat cover and take a gander at a little varnish? Or? Just wait. Either way, the Spring Tease is a ton more exciting, than the last gasp.

varnishing is NOT a good idea.

But it sure is nice to open up the doors and let it all breath.. AHHHHCHOOOO!
Old man winter is hanging on in Michigan this year. We are probably at least a couple weeks from first launch but very anxious!
BTW, the Century’s are coming to Algonac this June. Mark your calendars.
Nothing but storm after storm.
Up north MI is still reeling from days of ice, so hundreds of linemen and the National Guard are clearing trees and trying to get power restored.
Add in a few tornadoes down south a bit and spring is here!
With all that pollen built up. I’m surprised you didn’t call this story Spring Sneeze. Walleye are running in Detroit river
Those Coranado’s were one of my favorites. Nice poster Greg. Will they have some extras to sell. Get a look at that “transom” and the dog looks like Mr. B’s friend.
I think they will be selling posters in our ships store.
Yes, it will be a while yet in most of Michigan. It still gets quite cold at night, and then there are the occasional ice storms to deal with. Greg, Century is coming to Algonac…I think I will mark that one as a must see this year!
Just visited my mother in Burlington NC for her 94th birthday. I never seen pollen so bad. Turns the black car yellow-green in just two days. I have visited in past years for the same occasion and never even noticed the pollen. Just a clean up would be futile let alone varnish.
A couple teases here in northern KY – couple days of mid to upper 70s & at least partly sunny, a couple times. Then crap weather comes roaring back. Forecast is 60+ % chance of rain for the next 38 hours. Temps back below freezing Monday & Tuesday nights. Replaced a rusty safety cable on the dock yesterday, in preparation for high water.
Spring/summer can’t get here fast enough in northern lower Michigan – the heart of the ice storm last week. As of last weekend the trees, power poles and lines were dropping faster than the stock market. We were without power for four days and some areas are not expected to get power back for weeks. That being said, however, I can’t commend the community highly enough for banding together to help each other out. Despite what the media and politicians would have you believe people are still good and will join together for the benefit of others. I’m sure people on other parts of the country who have experienced fires, hurricanes, flooding etc. would agree,
Can’t get to Gull Lake soon enough and see the Purdy Boats
