It’s Time To Polish Up The Old Woody For The Resort Boatshop’s 7th Annual Show & Shine
The Resort Boatshop is one of the premier wooden boats shops in the Pacific Northwest and they also know how to throw a great party. The 7th Annual Resort Boatshop Show & Shine is always a fun and well attended spring event, offering up a number of classic boats from thier shop, as well as some great local boats from the nice folks at the Inland Empire Chapter ACBS. It’s also a perfect opportunity to get a look inside the Resort Boatshop’s huge facility in Post Falls, Idaho and see first hand what they are working on, from original classics to the amazing contemporary wooden boats they design and build.
Shown below from the 2009 Show & Shine, this beautiful 1967 Century Coronado was restored by the Resort Boatshop in 2006. The 401 Buick powered classic featured a new double planked bottom, all new planked decks, teak and holly floors, and custom upholstery.
And a very cool 1947 Chris-Craft Racing Runabout (referred to in the photo gallery as a “Red and White”) – Refinished at the Resort Boatshop in 2008 complete with new fiberglass bottom, repainted hull sides and deck.
So if your in the Spokane / Coeur d’Alene area or planning to be in the area on Saturday, May 5th, give them a call and let them know so they can have your name-tag ready. The contact information is on the poster.
These folks do it all, here’s just an example…

Crickets…
I guess everyone is out in the boat shed polishing their woodies today.
Bueller? Bueller?
Shhhhhhhhhhhhh.
You’ll wake the baby.
I thought we had a shut out today.
The thing that guy is yelling in to looks like a cylinder Jug from a vintage Curtiss V-12 race engine…
I think the silence indicates that maybe a few of our viewers drive mini-vans and have been thoroughly offended by the King!
HA, ya made me spit out my cocktail..
OK, after working on the docks at the club today, then coming home to pressure wash the decks and mow the lawn – I open up this site to find a 19′ racing runabout referred to as a “Red and White”. Sorry, but that does not sit right with me. I know, I know, some refer to those that way, but – it’s not a 25′ Express, the only Chris Craft that can be called a “Red and White”with integrity. Sheesh! I thought someone called this the center of the wood boat universe or something to that effect…
I’m confused. -(Biased too..) 🙂
That’s my rant for the day
Hi Dick – Sorry about that.
When I prepared the story, I decided to include a few shots of restored boats from the Resort Boat Shop / Hagadone Marine Group photo gallery, and respectfully used the descriptions that were included with the photos on the gallery.
I revised the description slightly, hope that helps you sleep tonight…
No need to be sorry – I was just goofing, (but am serious about “Red & Whites”) and know they know the difference – Heck, there is an actual Red & White on the poster – belongs to a former racer if memory serves… Is there such a thing as a former racer???
Planning to launch “Sindbad” today – Getting ready for Opening Day next Friday/Saturday!
