Just Heard On The Radio. There Will Be No Low Tide! Gulp!

Dock is usualy 2 feet above high tide

I was talking to the boatress about the water coming up over the bulkhead and dock. Which is normally about a two foot drop during high tide. Now mind you Sandy is 100’s of miles away.. I said, wow, this is high tide, tonight is going to be far worse. but at least the tide will be going out. NO, according to the radio. Now. my house is about 4 feet above this water line. YIKES! NOTE, I have tried to do this story since 10 AM, power keeps going off and on.

This morning at 10 AM, water has come up about 6 more inches as of noon

Same shot On a normal high tide.

Hang in there skipper. From your calm reporting, I think those pictures of your boat lift and dock have me more shook up than you. I hope it doesn’t get too much worse, and you don’t have to worry about it getting to the house. Wishing you good luck from Michigan!

Hang in there indeed! Where is Suzy the boat? Looks like NJ will get whacked worse than VA. Gusty winds kicking up in Arlington, but thats all so far!

Notice how WoodyGal asked about “Suzy the boat.” Forget the wife, dammit, how’s the Chris-?!?

All I can say, given what’s on your way, is what Roy Scheider (Chief Brody) said in Jaws:

“You’re going to need a bigger boat.”

    Wishing you the very best!
