Lake McDonald In Glacier National Park – Could This Be Montana’s Perfect Classic Boating Lake?
Fellow Woody Boater’s Tim & Deb Salt thought it was time to chime in with their Perfect Lake. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Northern Montana, pristine Lake McDonald is located in Glacier National Park bordering the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. The park encompasses over 1,000,000 acres and includes over 130 named lakes. So take it away Tim & Deb…
Lake McDonald – Glacier National Park
In the search for America’s great lakes a lot could be said for Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park. (Here’s Tim aboard “Shady Lady” their 1955 Chris-Craft 22′ Continental)
While it does not have the woody lore and reputation of some of the eastern lakes…
The solitude and grandeur of Lake McDonald on a glassy morning…
Or enjoying an evening sunset cruise…
Typically, we have the lake to share only with the historic century old DeSmet tour boat parked here at Lake McDonald Lodge.
Thanks Tim & Deb for sharing your Perfect Lake with us here at Woody Boater. We look forward to seeing you in the summer.

I have to hand it to the west for the pristine undeveloped shore. I cannnot manage the here in the east, too bad the commute is killer. I can only dream.
