Live-ish From West Coast Garage Tour And Symposiom. From Ron Stevenson

Karl Hoffman talks tranmissions. Here Karl is making sure it doesn't float away.

Karl Hoffman talks transmissions. Here Karl is talking about how those green and red tubes attached to his hip are really transmission cooler lines and help him run faster than a cheetah. Go Karl go!

Yesterday we got reports in from the West Coast Symposium. These type of events are a very important part of what the ACBS does. OK, OK, it’s also a great excuse to get together , have some laughs and talk about whats going on in the hobby. And for folks new to this, a fantastic way to find out that your not the only one that has no idea what there doing when it comes to Propeller design. But, thanks to John Flaherty who knows props, the mystery of prop design came into focus. And yes, we do see the irony that he is out of focus.

John Flaherty talk props

John Flaherty talk props with a piece of paper…as a prop. Its a prop joke. Cough cough.. Crickets.. I hear crickets..

One of the best parts of going to these events are the pre events. Shhhhhhh, don’t tell anyone, getting a ride in a cool boat is worth the trip alone. Thanks to Ron for sending us in this short video. It’s in focus… just tall, not wide.. So imagine your watching this on a phone. And if you are watching this on a phone, imagine you are there shooting it. And if you are there filming it. TURN THE PHONE SIDEWAYS! All kidding aside, its fun to go for a ride anyway we can! So here is Miss Sydney, She is a redesigned, recreation, of a Ventnor gentlemans race boat. Four of these hulls were built in Australia by Paul Duhurst. All made it to America, and surface from time to time.

Thanks Ron for reporting in, and stay tuned for a story Texx and Brian Robinson have been working on for a while that was talked about at the Symposium

That was like watching the center third of a video. Speaking of thirds, where did that extra chair go?

Everyone loves the grumpy sound of a high-rise cam. I can understand why he’s wearing hearing protection. Gotta love it!

      LOL,

With both sides missing perhaps it was glaucoma and we all need to get a medical marijuana card. The marijuana would then explain our inability to properly count two or three chairs.

Wow what a thought. You can go to your doctor and get a card so that you and your friends can go boating impaired and cause more accidents on the water. What a great promotion of WOODEN BOATING

I’d have to wear “depends” if I got to drive. Curt Ericson lets other ppl drive his boat??? Get me a plane ticket to Seattle, stat. That boat makes some great noises.

Floyd – Thanks to Curt, I had the pleasure of driving Miss Sydney (at speed) a few years ago on Lake Chelan and it was a memorable experience. A great boat. Here’s a shot with Curt at the controls.

Hey! How can I take a video of MYSELF? Have Mike Mayer hold the iPhone the right way! My cheeks are sore from grinning and flapping in the wind! I ran out of battery, but did shoot a quickie, I let Dick Dow drive twice…
