Live-ish Reports From Lake Oswego, Oregon and Hessel, Michigan – Spring Is Close

For some folks, spring is just around the corner and classic boaters all over the country have one thing in mind – Spring! This evening we received two Live-ish reports from fellow Woody Boaters in different parts of the country. The first two images came in from Mike Mayer as he was cruising across Lake Oswego, Oregon in his mighty Century Arabian. The big 440 Chrysler V8 was purring, the beer was cold and the air was crisp, but he was loving life on Lake Oswego as the sun began to set over the lake…

And we also received a report from our intrepid reporter Alex Watson in Hessel, Michigan. Alex has one of his classic wooden boats all ready to go, but unfortunately the water wasn’t quite ready for some classic boating today. But he was still planning to crack a cold beer and dream about spring like the rest of us today.

Is this where the movie “Grumpy Old Men” was filmed? Those ice fishing huts look familiar…

Don’t worry Alex, your time will come if you remain calm.

OK then – Maybe stop by the Islander Bar & Grill in Hessel and have them whip you up a Hot Toddy or two…

    After all, it’s Saturday night.

[POOF!]  Awoke the next morning to realize those weren’t Dora sirens screaming.  It was my kids fighting.

We had green grass a couple of days ago here in Spring Lake, Mich. Woke up to 7 inches of snow on the ground!!! BUT, gotta love Michigan weather, we will have mid 50 degree weather all week. SOOOO, I did’nt even go out to snow blow the driveway, let mother nature do the work, after all she is the one that dumpmed this stuff on my driveway in the first place…

Hope to be cruisin in a couple of weeks.

I hear Pisces Rising calling my name.. Snow here this morning, getting the Continental ready to roll to Florida.  Can’t wait!
New plugs, points and condenser, carbs cleaned, bearings packed and then hoist boat back onto the trailer, put soft cover on, then road cover and I am ready to roll!
