A New Woody Boater Is On It's Way!
Over the next couple days or so you will see the new Woody Boater website. We have painstakingly made sure that the design remains the same.. We know how much you all love change. That’s sarcasm by the way. We have made the new site more mobile friendly ( Over 40%) of our traffic. We also have moved some of the stuff few looked at, so we could add some special features. One. A all new classified section. It’s still in the works, and will be up soon.. We also hope that Woody Boater will load much faster and more reliably. Anyway, you may see the odd stuff happen while stuff transfers over. In the meantime enjoy the old has been site. Soon to be a classic. Even though it may feel the same, it’s an all new site built from the ground up. This will make the forth complete design change in our history! We are dedicated to being up to date and make sure that we are always where people look for information on our beloved classic boat culture. If you want to see a cool thing to see what we are talking about. You can go to this cool website and test your website or others to see how they are seen on different devices.. Yes a little geeky, but with now 40% of our traffic on ipads, and iphones, the site needs to work. Here is the link.. Try it
This is not going to be like the new Essentials book is it? Just a digital ghost of the original. Will I have to cruise eBay for original Woodyboaters?
Yes! Without doubt! Hahaha
Beautiful header, Kent O Smith. Ok you had me all ready to congratulate Chad, Mike M or Alex on a new little Woody Boater not a new website! Thank you, I will try to embrace the change.
I bet Troy is going to be real disappointed when he realizes what a “new backend” means in web speak.
I was wondering if Matt had become a plastic surgeon in his spare time?
I don’t think that guy ever sleeps. Maybe he has a friend named Tyler Durden.
Thank you!
That “thank you” was meant for Woody Gal, it posted in the wrong spot….guess it is time for a new site 🙂
Sure it was Jr.
I know you appreciate the art work!
Artwork, schmartwork, I was admiring the canvas….
It may be easier for some of us dinasaurs to accept if we think of it as NOS! Thanks for keeping us on the leading edge.
BTW, the link does not work on an iPhone with iOS 8.1.1 which is a touch scary!
Iam excited about the classifieds! Something else to cruise through everyday. The link didn’t work with the iPad either. I hope we don’t have to do algebra to submit a comment
We may want to stick with the old one for a while, it didn’t work with a Windows 7 laptop either, but that may be operator error if you know what I mean.
Yes the link only works on a reg comuter, laptop or table top.. Its a behind the scenes way that designers can see how there sites work on all the platforms. The old, current WB site does not work, you have to make it larger and it floats to the left, and on some OS8 safri stuff it tiles. So the all new 2015 wb will be different.
I guess the link works here, if you give it time…But being the ole timer that I am, I’m not sure what I was supposed to be looking at other than the opportunity to move a shirt around.
A new trading dock will be welcome.
An please no algebra for the “do the math” section
Hopefully no calculus either!
Here is a really cool video of the storm that hit the south buffalo area. The domed building is the downtown home of the Sabres who are still able to play…well that’s arguable, I guess I should say host hockey games. The Bill’s stadium is further south and east inside that white wall. They might not be able to play there next week either!

FWIW the snow from a storm like this is wetter and heavier than the big snow totals they get out west. The current estimate is about 1″ of water for each foot of snow, or more than 6″ worth of water sitting on peoples roofs. That is more than 30 lbs of snow per square foot, figure 15 tons sitting on a 2000 sq ft (2 story) home. a 75 foot driveway will have over 20 tons of snow to clear off. That is a LOT of shoveling!
Hey Matt & Texx ,
Looking forward to the new website.
Not that here was anything wrong with the old webiste!
But I sure hope the math to post is NOT “Common Core”
We are going to “try” and avoid the math issue and see if a new auto spam filter works.. The old site, current is nice. Just doesnt work well on moble devises, and is a mess behind the scenes..
Adapt or Die! That was the name of our high school yearbook circa 1973. But is sure is true in the digital world. My company website is all of 13 months old http://www.regardingrealestate.com -plug, and we are redoing it already.
Will there be a new judging category for “Classic Woody Boater.com” vs “New Mobile Woody Boater .com” ?
I like todays artwork ( funny adaptation of “THE SCREEM”) so will the new website be considered classic, contemporary , or resto-mod, or a mixture of all three? this is a great website, keep it going!!!!
Hope its more dependable than the Affordable Healthcare website rollout, lol.
“Even though it may feel the same, it’s an all new site built from the ground up.”
Does that make it a replica?
The same Woodyboater just with modern power for dependability. How many points do we deduct?
