Sandy Still Slamm’n Virginia. But This Aint Nuth’n

I am doing my part to slow the wind down for you up there. Sorry, I am loosing that battle for sure. This thing will not end!

I am running on generator power now. Winds are still screaming, and its defiantly getting cooler outside. Not Cobra cool by the way. Michigan cool. With no heat or water. Tomorrow things could get interesting here. But i am not going to complain one bit, cause we are on the outskirts of this. For the record. I HATE HURRICANES!  Good luck to all you up north.  If there is no story in the AM. I am wrestling the boatress for power over her blow drying her hair!

Nice work Matt. I see you took some of Alex’s advice.

Buckle down out there on the east coast…this is not a test!!

We are already having power flickers with high winds and rain and the center of the storm is not supposed to pass over us until 2:00 or so on Wednesday. This sucker is BIG! BTW, seriously hoping the kids want their MOMMY to escort them trick or treating this year !

Glad we are not on the shoreline, here in Western NY we will have some flooding and downed trees but nothing like what those closer to the ocean are getting. Good luck everyone!

Checked in with “Capt Bob” Meimbresse in Cape May a couple hours ago. He and the boats were safe but not out of the woods yet with two more high tides to to wait out.

To all those in the path, hope your feet stay dry (probably too late for that) and your tonsils stay wet.

Things are rocking and rolling on Lake Hopatcong! Huge trees coming down and the biggest water I’ve ever seen here. Dad, Johnny, and I are taking turns camping out in the boathouse to guard the 1912 Fay & Bowen. Fingers crossed!

Sleeping in a bouncing, cold boathouse is not the best camping trip I can think of, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Be safe and good luck to all.

      Woody gal,
I guess sleeping in an ice cold barn tending colicky horses sounds pretty good right about now. Hold on friends.

I guess “hanging out” would have been a better term…not sleeping down here! Just taking turns on guard duty 🙂

I wonder how Alex is doing at his own personal private hurricane party….he’s been quiet….he’s probably face down in a bowl of stale pretzels.

Good luck to those further east…..

I am the lucky one! Got out there at 4:30am with flashlight to check on the trees. Not one hit a building so house and boats are safe and I have electric. All those around me not so lucky.
