It’s Officialy Summer. I Am Taking The Day Off. Comment Freely And Often!!

Me taking a photo of Bob taking a picture of Tommy. We have about 400 photos to look through like todays header! Wow!
After a fantastic weekend at Lake Hopatcong, I am spent. I have a story to load from the Lake Tahoe Judging meeting. And there is one photo from a show on Haydon Lake, no one has yet to report in from Michigan, and there is a bunch of dumb stuff on ebay to talk about.. Like that over 100K Silver Arrow and some sort of 5K barrel back replica thing.. But not one of those things is enough. So I am taking the day off. Which means no story.. Of course now that I think about it, this is a story. Oh god, I am in a loop again.. Its a story about not writing a story thats really about things that are kinda stories. So.. The only thing that could possibly make it better is for you to comment about nothing today? Have at it. There is beer in the fridge!
I have nothing to say. Where’s the fridge?

Maybe a potential “Pumpkin 2” for someone.
Don’t you take every day off?
A story from the Michigan Chapter show is coming today. I needed a day off too!
It’s raining here… So I’m just going to read my Toronto ACBS CLASSICBOAT magazine again … (2014 Boat show edition) with a story on SEA-J 🙂
Can’t wait for this years Gravenhurst show on July 5th!
Hey…..I know! Go for a boat ride in a Woody!
Matt, You deserve a day off!!! Next time make sure your day off doesn’t fall on a day of the week that starts with the letters S,M,T,W,T, or F……. Enjoy your last day off…..
This might be a good time for me to ask a dumb question, are the boat houses on Lake Hopatcong on floats or are they stationary?
Our boat houses are on pilings or wood cribs filled with rocks. Some have cement foundations. Current rules would only allow pilings. We are fortunate to have some beautiful boathouses, some over 100 yrs.
I am taking the day off today as well – to drive to the cabin to start my summer there. Well, really it is to get a boat ready to take to the Whitefish Woody Weekend in Montana this weekend, but this is indeed the day I leave Calgary for the cabin and the summer! Can’t wait to get out there and start enjoying the season.
To me, almost every morning is Saturday morning, and every evening is Friday evening. I took to retirement like a duck (or Woody Boat) to water. Problem is, my wife Karen is still teaching 5th thru 8th graders and loving it. Marrying a child bride seemed so smart 42 years ago, but now its pay-back time, I suppose. Oh well…
Yes, we enjoyed the first day of summer up here in the Great Northwest thanks to the hard work of several of my friends. I finally got my boat “Analog” back into the water at Lake Tapps, WA after a thorough “redo”.
Dick Dow graciously installed a new rudder, Morse controls, and a blower. Craig Magnusson built me a Chris Craft “283” out of a Chris Craft 350Q that we had rebuilt. He also helped me get all of the metal trim back on during the weekend as I had just gotten the boat back from Rob DaPron’s shop where I had him refinish the paint and varnish. He did an incredible job and the boat looks great!
My wife and I are so pleased to have our boat back and we are deeply grateful to our friends for all they did!
Thanks guys! The summer will be great fun and I can’t wait until Craig Magnusson and I take it to the Chris Craft Rendezvous in Port Orchard in July! Woody… you should make it to this event. It is Fabulous!
I should have taken the day off. Maybe tomorrow.
I spent a cool and pleasant night about the cruiser last night on the Chesapeake…..WENT BOATING….
and YOU deserve a day off…
John in Va.
68 Resorter, Mo ozarks. Had to mow pasture yesterday. It was 6 pm and we wanted to cool off. Hooked up the canoe and went for a evening cruise & swim on Tebo arm of Truman Lake. Pix of Ben and canoe. M&M
Matt on his “day off” A very happy camper!
We all love the header photos Matt creates, I watched Matt create today’s. You have no idea how much time, thought and attention to detail he puts in to each day’s header. It is amazing! Thanks Matt.
First wooden boat goes in tomorrow. Gee I hope there are no icebergs still lurking.
Jeez Alex, it’s almost July! Git the boats in the water!
The “warden” is gone for the whole day and Troy didn’t post one hottie photo? Very disappointing!
Matt- take a whole week off. Sunday to Sunday. The week after the 4th of July or something. Just preload a bunch of pictures from boat shows and from ……Troy. :-}
Matt, great seeing you at the Lake Ho-Pat-Cong show, thanks for being/making a part of our great club and show.
Slacker!
I guess this would be a story about nothing. Sounds like a Seinfeld thing to me.
I was so off I am commenting a day late.
