Thank You!

This week has been a very emotional one for us here at Woody Boater. It actually started three years ago when we decided to see if Woody Boater could actually pay for itself. The first step was to re design the site, then to ask for support from sponsors that want to take part in the movement of bringing the wonderful joys of this passion to the world. The sponsors answered immediately without question and with huge support. We all have them to thank as well for allowing this all to take off like it has. No one can do this alone that’s for sure. Hagerty, Antique Boat Center, Katzs marina, St Lawrence Restoration, Sierra Boat works, Kocian Instruments, Nelson Boat Works Van Ness Engineering. Maritime Classics, Lake Oswego Boat Works, and the Chris Craft Antique boat Club have all been supporters since day one. You may have also noticed that we now have some new faces, Superior Chrome is a long standing quality chrome shop that has been doing marine chrome but never thought to promote it. Sunrise boat works, Freedom Boat Service, and the big ACBS sponsorship . The ACBS has been there behind the scenes for some time and we could not think of a better partner in all this . We all need each other to make this culture grow and prosper.  Our explosive growth is a reflection of us all working together not seperatly. Woody Boater  if you look at it now is the entire community all in one place.

The one thing that was missing was a way for you to help. Hence the donate button. It was not easy. Texx and i love our freedom and love doing this for fun and pride, not money. We each do very well in our business lives. But a funny thing would happen at events. people  would walk up and hand me money. I honestly did not know what to say at first. It’s embarrassing. I hand out money, I always pay for dinners, and help. I am not a good taker,  and neither is Texx. We always want to give more than we receive. And thats what the donation button is all about. It became clear that others are the same. They want to be fair and help. Your donations totaling over $3,000 in one day are stunning. My phone would ping each donation. Several for over $200.. I had to stop a meeting and leave the room and just sit alone to be honest. I was to moved to think straight.  One dollar made on Woody Boater is like $10,000 made for my other work. Each dollar you gave is a treasure to be applied in a senseless way to do dumb things to talk about all the dumb senseless things we do. The notes attached to the donations were priceless. Telling us to use the money for dumb things. As my family would say regarding gift money, go waste it one something stupid! Thats how I got started in the hobby with Sylvia. And I am sure my grandmother is smiling up in heaven right now.So, not to boar bore? you anymore. We want to thank you for your continued support. Go boating, its 70 here in Virginia!
