Thanks For A Record High Year For Woody Boater!

Texx up in the air to catch it all. Thanks to Lee Anderson!

Yesterday we finished up the year in warm sunny Florida milking 2015 for all the summer we could find. The Boatress and I spent the week on Longboat Key and were able to just relax and look back on a wonderful 2015 and forward to 2016. A huge thanks to Texx who covered yesterday when our internet went out, and cell. A perfect storm, and Texx jumped in with the best story of the week of course.

The Boatress last day on the beach. But no Internet!

A fantastic 2015. This year we broke all the records for traffic and it seems to just keep going. The Woody Boater world is strong and growing. We could not be more excited to be a teenie weenie part of it all.  This year we broke the single day record for readership with over 22,000 views in one day. That was the day of the CBS on Sunday Morning feature. Here it is in case you missed it.

Since that day, traffic shot up around 10% for the rest of the year. Also a nice jump when we were mentioned in Vanity Fair. With over 2.2 million views for the year, and a record 220,000 views in the month of August. The exposure of Woody boater and the culture of classic boating was seen by around 5 million people from that CBS show as well.

????????????????????????????????????

We were also able to cover more events than any year before and visit many woody boaters. And to give you all an idea of how all the banners work, and do those folks benefit from Woody Boater. Last year the Chris Craft Antique Boat club got 45,000 clicks to the site, The ACBS as a total, over 7,000. Company stats we keep private, but the numbers are close to the ACBS. We are also extremely grateful for all the stories contributed and comments. Those are the fuel that really keeps this going.

Looking Forward To 2016. We are looking forward to an exciting year for the classic boat culture. We are hoping to focus on the South East this year and hopefully New England. Of course there is the huge International on Lake Tahoe. And of course there is Michigan and Gull Lake. UGH.. OK, maybe we are going to just focus on North America, oh and the Blue Arabian will be making its summer tour around the US and then New Zealand, so, really we are focusing on the world.  Wow, I am exhausted already.

Did someone use photoshop to remove the Woody Boater logo from your helicopter?

As I write this there’s still plenty of open water on Balsam Lake in northwestern Wisconsin. Crazy.

Thank you for all you do, Matt and Texx. Happy New Year.

Happy New Year From Ronnie and I in West Michigan. Had a great year visiting with all you on a daily basis, and do not know what I would do if I could not fire up the old computer first thing in the morning with a hot cup of coffee, and drift away while reading the days storyline.
Keep up all the hard work, and rejoice in knowing we on this side of the screen, cherish what you all do each and every day.
We are already planning out our 2016 bucket list of classic shows to attend, see you all on the docks someday, somewhere…

Congrats on building a virtual clubhouse where us hardcore boat dorks can hang out in while also extending a warm handshake to curious folks on the periphery who think they might have the woody boat gene. Can’t wait to see where 2016 takes you. Thanks Matt & Texx!

    Matt and Texx,

Thank you for your effort to keep the monster fed each day! Having been in the newspaper business in my past, I truly understand the demands.

To help with your SouthEast coverage, I hereby commit to send Live-ish reports in from Lake Hartwell in April. Hopefully, this year’s report contains fewer rainy, gray photos.

We are also planning to attend the big Greavette reunion in Gravenhurst, Ontario in July, so maybe we can team up with Chris and Julie to provide coverage from the Great White North.

Will provide more coverage as events are scheduled. Thank you again for the daily entertainment!

    Read you every day,
Thanks for your help earlier this year helping me find our family boat (pic was on a milk carton). You don’t even know me and you took the time. I’m forever grateful. Hope some day to meet you and thank you in person. I do music and sound and some fun at boat shows , so we may cross paths. next year i will be doing the boat show for the wine country chapter of the ACBS. we will be back on keuka lake in central new york. you just might want to stop and take in the new boating museum recently opened. great history of finger lakes boat building.
Oh yeah, I’m invovled because brother tom is restoring
    1928 24ft triple chris craft.

Many thanks to Matt, Texx, and the entire Woody Boater crew! We had some some spectacular moments year, and Woody Boater was there to help us celebrate them all. While we sometime feel a little isolated from the rest of the crowd, we here on the West Coast are looking forward to the the Tahoe Concours d’Elegance, and the the ACBS International Show at Sierra Boat Company. It will be hard to top the Gull Lakes show, but we’ll give it our best shot. Thanks again for everything you have done to support us all!
