Thanks To One Of The Greats. Joe Kabot We Will Miss You.

Yesterday at 2:00pm the sun set for many of us in the Antique & Classic Boat community. One of the greats in the passion of Antique boating passed away. Joe Kabot, a mentor to many considered the nations expert on pre-war runabouts and other boats of the era left us all to fend for ourselves.. Joe’s willingness to share his knowledge and kind ways exemplify all that is good in this hobby..

Terry Fiest Director- Chris – Craft Antique Boat Club is quoted as saying.” he was very highly respected in the ACBS and was a great American” 

Carla Gernhofer Hagerty VP of Marine – “Joe was a great man and one I respected tremendously. It is a sad day hearing this news.”

Brian Robinson -Director, Chris – Craft Antique Boat Club, said ” Joe was a legend, a great American, and a personal mentor and close friend of mine, this Club, and to so many others. You will be missed Joe”
A funeral is being planned in Algonac Michigan this Saturday.

    Joe was a great person. Always willing to help and teach people about the hobby. He will be greatly missed. He was one if a kind.

    I am extremely sorry to hear about the passing of Joe Kabot. I only knew him for a short period of time..I owned Daven Haven Lodge in Grand Lake, Colo—–When we sold the Lodge Mr Kabot bought a vintage Chris-Craft boat —The boat was ” LADY OF THE LAKE ” —-Do happen to know what happened to the boat?? Joe Kabot was a class individual—-Sorry I have no spoken with him in several years—-Condolences to the Kabot family. Please Advise
