The “Good People” Of Lake Hopatcong Invite You To Have Some Fun This Weekend, Despite What Some Say!

This is a comment on our story on Lake Hopatcong , on the Michigan ACBS facebook page who shared a story on us and the two shows for this week.

You may have read us here this week using the term “Good People” regarding our “good friends up on Lake Hopatcong and wondering why it’s in “quotes”? Well, it’s a bit of an inside sad joke based on a nasty troll comment on the Michigan ACBS chapter Facebook page. Yup. Seems like we have Trolls all over the place now. Woohooo! The sad part of this comment though is that it was made by one person, as if he spoke for the entire lake. I was confused to be honest, and thought. Mmmm, maybe the “good people” I know and like, don’t really want us there. OUCH? You can not think of a more fun, welcoming and warm group. Maybe it’s time to end this, when all you wanted to do was make folks happy and somehow you’re making enemies? Well, others must have felt the same confusion on the lake, and lots of emails to us personally  told a different truth. Comments on that facebook story as well.

And after all, not both of my boats are junk, just one of them. And man you can’t miss it. I am thinking about handing out gas masks, if it stays afloat long enough. HA.

Stinky indoors is a biological hazard. Poor Tony, his eyes starting watering. And holy cow, how is Alan in there?

And to be clear. The “Good Folks” all 99.9% of the gang up there would love to have you all show up at the show and have some good fun, on a Great lake, (Not the Great Lakes, which is a different show) with some Great boats this weekend! Then, John, I promise to head back to Virginia, or where ever I am from.

Graves Chrome on, Interior In, Varnish On, and the clock is now back! Time is ticking. Will she run?

Are you interested in coming to Lake Hopatcong this weekend? If so, stop on by and take a whiff of Stinky. Jimmy is also planning on being there in case the “Good People” turn on me! YOU CAN CLICK HERE to the LHACBS site for details. And if you are so inclined to know more about the Great People on the Great Lakes in Algonac, You can Click Here to the Michigan ACBS site. Maybe if we get run out of Jersey we can make it up there in time. Dang, who knew classic boat shows could be so dramatic?

Lake Hopatcong was one of the first show I attended and it was a blast with great welcoming people. At least he had the guts to post his name and picture. Maybe he just needs a hi colonic.

This community is too small to waste time with infighting. Yet another reason to stay off Facebook and go boating.

I know the folks of Lake Hopatcong will enjoy your WoodyBoater presence, but the good people of Michigan want you to come back and see us again next year! We are getting geared up with over 80 registered boats as of yesterday. If other WoodyBoaters are closer to Algonac and looking for a great time this weekend, come see us “Where it all Began”!

You got that right. We love Matt, the Boatress, WECATCHEM and STINKY.
I’ll be heading to Syracuse, In. for the boat show this weekend.

And right there is the reason we need to check the ACBS calendar frequently. We attended the Syracuse Indiana Boat Show at the Oakwood Resort a few years ago (2014 I think) then it was not held for at least a year maybe two, and we wrote it off as being a has been. Now we learn it is back, but too late to change our plans. This is a great show, at a great resort (dog friendly too), on a great lake. I will watch the calendar more closely, for a while at least. If you are in that area and are looking for something to do, you won’t be disappointed with this show.

What! There’s a dog friendly show. And no one told my human. I’m ready to go. Unfortunately it’s to the “country club”. Hope that hot Great Dane is there.

Shocked and surprised by John’s comment. Seems uncharacteristic of him. I wonder what the back story is if there is one.

      ps.
Lake Hopatcong people are among the friendliest people around.

Wow, Cant we all just get along. What a nasty comment, If you wanted to get rid of your junk I would be very proud to have it lol. Must be jealousy or maybe a family member of Tim.

Hey, I resemble that remark. My name is Tim and I love everything about Woodyboater except the negative comments.

Matt, keep the faith, don’t let the black clouds get you down.

There is always two sides to each story ! Those who have spoken directly with John and Kim will know why the comments have been made.

Time to move along and go boating.

What you say is true….and I know what you mean…I’ll say no more here other than to add John was kind enough to work on my bauky engine at Mt. Dora one year.

I would love to be there to see both of your boats Matt, but I have a non-boating conflict this weekend. The Chevy Nationals at Carlisle, Pa.
I hope you have a great time. I’ve spent a lot of time on Hopatcong since the early ‘6os and I love the lake.

So there are two kinds of people in the world – those that like Matt and what he does here (and there) and those that don’t.

I come here for fun and interesting stories – just like the reason I have wooden boat. No bull crap out on the boat.

Should be no bullcrap here either. Leave it to the Facebook.

Thanks Mark, I try and avoid it at all cost and agree about Facebook, its a sad place to be honest.

      Matt says:

Thanks Peter, but to be honest, not feeling bad at all. There have been so many of these jabs that it’s all kinda sad. Some are funny even. And for the record, HATE doing stories like this. It takes the good away and crap floats in. Not sure why negativity has a place in a passion that is all about fun, hope and joy. It was out there and not taken down and I had a bunch of emails letting me know and tried to turn it into something positive and good for us all. Like GO TO THE SHOWS. The folks are so kind and welcoming, and glad when you are there.

Come on Matt. It’s Jersey F you if you can’t take a joke. Jersey loves you as well as the Great Lakes and The River. Maybe I will even show. Time to stand behind those you support.

I bet if you rented an Ozone generator and threw it in stinky for a day or so. Cover the whole deal in plastic. That would likely eliminate the smell. I’d be curious to know.
