This Is Why It’s Fun To Be Independent
Here’s a perfect example of why it’s so important for Woody Boater to remain independent, to report on what stimulates us and the ever growing Woody Boater community.
Next year we are going to cover this event. We are even thinking about getting an old Hercules straight six from Fine Wood Boats, “soup it up”, pull together a volunteer pit crew and enter the event just to show these guys how creative (and brave) Woody Boaters are.
We can enter it as the “Sons of Varnish Dirt Devil”
With our experience riding Harleys – Jim Staib and I will volunteer to take on the driving duties… Can we count on you to come out and cheer us on?
WoooHoooooo!

Texx,
We will be there. Maybe we could also enter it in the women’s division and get Marianne and the Boatress to give it a whirl! I think you may want to hire those guys that had the camo boat racing throught the swamp as consultants.
I glad I’m not the one to have to tell the gals to start training for next year. I’m in, someone has to bring the beer
Darn things are more powerful and a whole lot faster than my sportsman. I think we should borrow a V-12 Scripps. Next we need someone fit enough to run behind it. I’ll root from the sidelines with a beer.
if we use a V-12 Scripps we better get Usain Bolt to run behind it!
They do make sulkies for mowers so you don’t have to run, or is ride on mowers a different division?
I have a 4 cylinder B engine you can have.
OK – You can be the Crew Chief
I’m IN….let me know how I can help. Those boys speak my language! Woodygal….are you ready to run?
Speechless. On so many levels.
OK Brian – You can be the PR Guy for the rototiller race team.
Must be something in the water down there. I’m in!!
My vote is for a V Rod motor rigged to a NOS bottle for that little extra push at the end when your legs are starting to burn. There should be a beer keg close by at all times.
Love the guy with the “blank” woody boater cap. I didn’t know you guys could photoshop someone else’s video too. All that dust and the women being dragged behind the tiller reminds me of my mountain bike night ride except mine included a large tree at the crest of the hill.
Is this someones idea of getting their field tilled for free just by posting a “Tiller Race Today” sign?
Damn, Why didn’t I think of that?
I think this should be a ‘Marine’ Event. They should be equipped with Mahogany Skis and some sort of Sulkie and the tiller times are the means of propulsion! This coupled with a Cardboard Boat Race would do wonders for drawing folks to the Boat Show!
