This Little Model Classic Boat Traveled Around The World In Just 24 Hours!

Screen Shot 2015-03-20 at 8.21.30 PMThis little Forester model started its journey from the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton NY, then it traveled to Virginia, and then placed on the Woody Boater facebook page and POOF! She took off for a fun trip to Spokane Washington to Spain, then to the UK, then off to the Land Down Under, bounced around there for a bit, then back to Oregon, Italy, back to the states in Texas, Maine, and even as far away at Lake Hopatcong! Look closely, the folks at Katzs did a bottom job and refresh in 45 seconds.. then off to Tahoe, back to England again.. Needless to say this little gas sucker flew like heck! Now we have to admit that she got a major turbo boost from the good folks at Wooden Boat Magazines facebook page. Yikes close to 100K likes.

Today’s story makes no sense to me. My understanding of Facebook is that it was a way for college students to keep track of “friends” that they wanted to…um…”poke.” I am not sure how that fits in the context of woden toy boats traveling the world at supersonic speeds.

I think I better go back to yesterday’s story and have some peanut butter on toast before I get too confused!

It snowed yesterday afternoon, last night and it’s snowing again. Give me something with boats and sun please. Anything. Even plastic at this point. Put that toy in a sunny puddle and post a picture even.

O.K Matt, who can I get in touch with regarding that model boat? I have one just like it that my father had when he was little. sans the little airplane propeller thingy.
By the way, did you put Absinth on your Wheaties this morning???

Sorry Matt 1st don’t know how to Facebook tried and I couldn’t seem to work it. And I don’t think this time it’s the Al-Gorenet just my incompetence. Want make Dora but would like a live feed from the party, I know the days stories will be great as well!

Hey guys! That was fun to share the model and see how she went ’round the world. Thanks for the plug–we gained 160+ LIKES on the 21st. Coincidence? I think not. Woody Boaters should always feel welcome to share on WoodenBoat’s Facebook: we love seeing what’s going on in the world of wooden boats.
