Want To Make Some Mulla Being A Woody Mule?

fla-or-bust

Decal Babe Says Let’s Go! You can lick her all the way there… OK, maybe then went to far. Sorry. Great, now I offended her.

John from VA put a very interesting Wanted Ad on The Classified page. link at end of story. The ad asks if anyone wants to drive a boat down to Dora, and goes a step further, asking if anyone else wants that sort of service. For many, the haul is a bit of a hurtle to going, or, just don’t want to deal with the anxiety of driving a boat to Florida. So why not ask folks that are going anyway and want to do the trip for free, heck, make a couple green backs on the trip. So here it is. Talk amonsgt yourselves. johns email is in the Classified area. Chime in if you want in, or also want one hauled. LINK HERE

1 ton diesel from Northern Illinois. Will avoid war torn Chicago. Leaving March 15 to do the river trip so you need to find a place to store it for a week.

I tried before with no response but I still think a bunch of us should get together and share a house on the lake. It could be better cheaper and more convenient than a downtown motel.
Anybody in Tavares going out of town for that week. or even the weekend ?

Make sure everyone understands responsibilities for damages, insurance claims, proper trailer attachment, and where the boat is strapped down (or not) for maintaining boats trailering attitude, what to do with interior cushions, seating (remove for weather or haul in place), other components, boat/stern pole, lines, life jackets, toolbox, battery (connected or disconnected), boat cover (and whether boat should be covered overnight if parked overnight), responsibility for theft of items when parked, responsibility for damage if item flies up from road and damages boat hull (regardless if its from tow vehicle or passing car or truck). Just a few things to think about (don’t ask me how I know these things are important).

Great point. Towing is a big part of claims. Many people don’t thing that. In fact most damages happen in the barn, or trailering. Please make sure you both, agree on that sort of stuff in writing so there is no hard feelings.

Is it legal to tow two boats like those FedEx double trailers do? Heck I will give it a try, and I am heading right through Virginia.

    LEO stopped us last year.

thanks for all the input guys! Just got back from GOING BOATING….85 degrees in Va…who needs Florida?
Anyway…..I appreciate Jim’s offer and may work that out but have had a nibble from a guy that is sort of local and going for the week… As to all those cautions…you guys forget I am just a poor Whirlwind guy….got a 5k boat and trailer…..all I ask is give it your best shot….if all comes to grief…I am out one boat and will do another…..no barrel back blues for me….like a virgin…too much responsibility!
Keep on with offers to tow as others are interested as well.
Troy: you towing that blast from the past down AGAIN?
don’t do the eastern shore route this time…that was just too too much!!! Love it……ha ha…..
