Water, Water And More Water.

Before

I just put that mulch in. Lesson learned.

Funny thing, not ha ha funny, but more ugh funny. When you see all your stuff under water, you just sit there and think. Well, not a whole lot I can do about this. That was the feeling yesterday while watching the tides come in, and come in. The crazy part is low tide was higher than most king tides. Its a tad insane. not crazy insane, but just kinda expands your brain insane.

I did turn all the power off to the railway. I was able to get in durring the low tide. There was a bout 2 feet of water. I did fear that Stinky might float away into something. This was yesterday. Last night at 7 PM was our super worst tide. I will know more this morning.. UGH..

More of the same

This little model was up on a wall.. Not sure how it made the leap for life, but she sure had fun floating around. You go girl

If you look closely at Stinky you can see how high the water came to her. We will know more this morning.. UGH.. The tide last night was about a foot taller than this one photographed. 2-4 feet above high tides.

Around the house.. Look dear, we live on a point now

Low tide

yesterdays header. YIKES..

Low tide

Disaster can be beautiful

the calm before the tides

Miss Water Puss was found across the creek in a slip. Not tied up. Just sitting there. Like Mr B, when he escapes from the fence, he just comes to me.

My neighbor tied her up to his dock You can see my boathouse across the creek. I thought the boat was his since it was in his slip. Oh well. All is well.

I would like to thank everyone for your kind emails, texts and comments. The good news, and there is always good news, is the power stayed on, we got to see things float by that told stories of forgotten items on folks docks. That was funny.. ha ha funny.  Today no sympathy, just jokes please. No mercy.. Like, well at least its clean now? Or, well, a boat shop where everything floats except the boats! HAHAHAHA

Did ya hear the one about the guy that bought the old marina in Reedville just before the record high tides?
    Hang in there!

So should we be discussing what color bottom paint is correct for the floor and first 3 feet of the wall? Maybe a waterline stripe at the hightide mark?

Last November we had 2 feet of water over the docks at Smith Mountain Lake.a lot of people were hustling to move the beer refrigerators off their docks. Priorities! As they say “You got to laugh just to keep from crying “

Glad everything is safe, especially Mr B . Where were you nine years ago today? We were getting slapped around by Sandy in the back yard.

Well, the good news Matt is that you won’t have to worry about your boat bottoms drying out and opening up in all that dry AZ heat or something…….😄
Just for the heck of it though, you might want to tie an anchor and line to the boats on the four wheel castors? Just sayin’.
Oh and I make large size Murdock hydrants that you can install nearby to hook up a hose to help when wash down time comes around too!

Well, the good news is that you can just float boats right into the shop now. Don’t need that railway bit anymore.

Unreal tides. I went boating…actually to build a nice walnut shelf in the saloon…only to find myself working on a dock in nearly a foot of water…for two days!
