Woody Boater Weekend Edition – Let’s Try Wishing For Winter To End

Woody Boater Weekend Edition Wishing Well

On Friday Matt kicked off the weekend with some warm thoughts from Virginia. In some parts of the Pacific Northwest it’s probably not going to hit 70 Degrees this weekend, so I was thinking that maybe it would help if we got out the old “Woody Boater Wishing Well”… And try to wish winter away…

The idea would be that if we could somehow “Wish Winter Away” we could go from this…

To this… By focusing on some of Robert Miracle’s beautiful photography.

Then we could make another wish to race through what’s left of February so we can start thinking about Lake Dora in March… Robert & Linda Miracle will also be returning to Lake Dora to shoot the Sunnyland ACBS Boat Show in 2011.

Here’s a shot from Lake Dora last year. We were standing on the dock on Sunday morning at 6:30 AM wearing shorts and a tee shirt…. In March.

Then we can make another wish using the old “Woody Boater Wishing Well” that this year it will be so hot and humid in Tavares that we will see some more of those rare Woody Boater Mushrooms springing up everywhere.

Here’s some more cool summer shots from the Miracle’s to help us stay focused on warm weather, and wish away winter.

Randy & Ginger Clark’s 1946 24′ Hacker Craft Runabout “OoRAH” always makes me think warm thoughts. I found 2 Robert Miracle shots of “OoRAH” that I really like, and couldn’t decide which one to use for today’s Woody Boater Weekend Edition post, so I finally decided to post them both. Notice the heat waves in the air from the exhaust… and the turquoise colored water, very hot.

Have I reminisced long enough? Hey it’s Saturday at the lake, at least if my wish comes true.

Thanks Robert for sharing your images with us for todays story.

Thanks Texx, the temp just shifted because of a strong wind. I think all that west coast wishing is dumping all your crap on us . Thanks, thanks a lot. I am going out side and brag about readership.. All that hot air should counter the jet stream you have created here..HA..

Those pics help alot. We had temps in the 50’s and 60’s the last couple of days and melted alot of snow here in upstate NY. But, today we have temps in the 20’s w/ 40MPH winds and snow UGH!
The runoff has caused flooding and the icejam took out my dock:( Looking foward to a spring rebuild.

What a great surprise to wake up to this morning!!

OoRAH is getting wet today…we are going to run her up the Intercoastal to gawk at the NASCAR fans in Daytona…

I keep throwing coins at your wishing well but they just keep bouncing off the computer screen. I even tried it while clicking my heals together chanting “There’s no time like spring”, all to no avail. Yesterday 60 degrees and sunrise kayaking. Today 20’s and 40 mph gusts. ARGGGGGGGGGG!

It is 13 deg. below F (abbreivated for Fahrenheit, and not that cussin’ word!) here in Calgary today. The profanity seems highly appropriate though. It is going to be like this, more or less for another week anyway. Too cold even to enjoy skiing.

I am willing to try almost anything to get this winter behind us. On Monday I will be loading a frozen, ice and snow filled F/C onto a trailer. Oh the joy…..

Paul – Loading an aluminum Feather Craft boat in -13 F weather… Remember, even if your buddies dare you to lick the metal boat – Don’t try it!

Randy & Ginger – OoRAH deserves an award for one of the most frequently used antique boats in the country. It’s great to see, and nobody can ever accuse her of being a trailer queen… Is there a toll booth on the Florida Intercoastal?

Rick – I think Matt is working on developing an interactive wishing well that will accept coins. The challenge is to design the slot so it won’t take Wooden Nickels… HA

No tollbooths yet…geez, don’t give them any ideas…

We had a blast, NASCAR has some of the most colorful & fun loving fans of any sport and we found a bunch of them!!!

Too bad Randy will be working out of state during Bike Week…
