Biggest Balls Winner David Konick Gets A Real Challenge At His Title!
Biggest balls Winner for three years in a row David Konick has parked his boat for the winter, and sadly shown his weakness. Another has stepped in to take his place…. On eBay no less. Yes, in what has to be the ballsiest move in years. Ebay seller bobsbezerkolounge has chosen to sell off dumpster material as Nautical art. That’s right, rotten wood off a boat for $525.. I am not making this up. To be fair, there is a best offer in there. And it appears to be a covering board. Here is the official description.
Up for auction is a hull section section of a 1960 40 foot Chris Craft Sport Fish / Fly Bridge, unfortunately the boat met it’s demise but I saved this bow section it’s a beautiful piece to add to any nautical collection. It would be a great gift for you or yours. This piece would look great as a wall hanging. It measures app. 46″ long X 5″ high and bowed upward app. 3 inches on each end and app. 3 inches thick. I will also include a mahogany shelf and mahogany shelf supports. Shipped weight is 8 1/2 pounds from 32771. Please ask any questions before bidding, all ebay rules apply. By the way, You may want to run out into the yard and stomp out that fire you started this morning…NOW! If it sells, David, I am sorry.. All those 35 mile Atlantic Ocean during hurricanes trips are nothing compared to this guys balls. WOW! This opens up an entirely new market for our crap. I can see it now.

Old nautical glass from Lake Dora Party House! Display on your table. Show your guests you are popular and not the lonely boat nerd you really are. For only $750 we will throw in stripped Reed and prince screws and used bung hole plugs.
Matt, Your creativity in coming up with these stories every day never ceases to amaze me. Carry on!
I wish I could make this up!
I saw that yesterday…and was counting down the hours before you would have it posted.
I emailed it around in amazement! We will never let you down.
Forget the lottery, I have an entire original 19′ Gar Wood left over from the restoration in pieces in my basement, I mean art, it’s got to be worth $$$$. Ebay here I come!
You mean my boat is worth more in parts than whole????
I can’t believe you’re laughing at this. This is no seller. He is a brilliant artist. His medium (eBay) is the message. Note how he spells his name: “bobsbezerkolounge.” That’s artsy. Like k d lang, or the artist formerly known as Prince. Remember, people laughed at Warhol’s “Brillo Boxes which “rub the nose of high culture in the mundane disorder of the supermarket stockroom.” Boy were they wrong! Bet you now wish you had the foresight to buy “Brillo Boxes” before the art community took note of their greatness! What an opportunity you have here. “Hull Section” is one of bobsbezerkolounge’s best works. I’d buy this myself, but I already have several of his pieces in my home. Buy it now! Display it proudly, as you would a Rodin or Brancusi. Oh, and remember to protect it from direct sunlight or heat sources.
If this is true and that thing sells than I think we all hit the Powerball today!! I will retire from working on boats and start manufacturing pedestals. Woohoo!!!
I have 80% of the planking off of a 21 Capri that sat outdoors in the desert for years that I am restoring. All those planks, broken ones add $$$ ambiance, that I am now going to put on ebay for wall planking. How huge will this powerball go?
Hey I left my prints on that 4th bottle back, second to the right…do I get a cut of the highest bid? Boy, there were a lot of Artist there that night…talk about creative process!
Heck, I have original bow to stern frames from my 1927 Indian Lakes Dart in the garage…if I market it as an “antique runabout starter kit”, do you think someone will bite?
In my humble opinion, calling this Ebay poster an artist is a huge stretch. What exactly is the point of his “installation” ? I am all for artists reaching for new horizons but then again, Ebay is full of folks posting overpriced crap so I really do not think that he is making any social commentary. If I walk into a Porsche showroom and put alligator poop on the driver’s seat of a Carrera 4 – I am not making a protest statement that the car burns fuel made from the relatives of the gator – it just make me a lunatic.
Hey wait, you mean the 4K I just spent on that Carrara 4 seat with genuane crock sh&t is not worth anything. CRAP!
Think of the fortune Jim Staib has burned.
I just looked and there is a couple pieces of 20′ Riv left. Maybe $5K by bobsbezerkolounge’s prices. I’d trade for a 12er. AND I’ll help load.
What cracks me up is that “It measures app. 46″ long X 5″ high and bowed upward app. 3 inches on each end and app. 3 inches thick”. This guy apparently has done his home work. Bowed upward that’s classic.
Speaking of lotteries; might be fun to take bets…..I mean guesses,, at whether and how much this thing might sell for. I say it will sell, and will bring 275.00.
It’s a crazy world we live in folks.
Golly, I shoulda not scrapped that old rotten Steury years ago! Just think what a whole boat would have brought!
By the way, if any of you decide to add this to your “nautical collection”, I am available to install it professionally using two kinda period correct sorta brassy looking slightly bent original Chris Craft screws. Also available, for an extra charge of course, are two delicately weathered matching wood bungs, hand picked from my extensive and exclusive collection….Call for pricing…HEY! IT”S ART! and it aint cheap! NO TIRE,,er,,keel kickers, serious enquiries only!
Possibly could be made available to a discerning collector…..
Price is not negotiable, but open to consider trade for Rothko, de Kooning, other less-dimensional pieces….
For a few hundred more on eBay, you could own a Lyman transom bar. What better way to display your old nautical glass from Lake Dora?

Forgot to mention; if you are one of those who likes his “nautical collection” to shine like a diamond, I also offer restoration services. Could probably spiff this one up for around 2 gs or so. Let me know.
That seller is clearly not one of the “Sons of Varnish” No varnish on that piece of “art”
If you really want $750 for those Mt.Dora bottles there are at least 5 of mine in that pile … I want them back!
I never realized that “drinking” was an investment … Must be like collecting old boats.
The Silver Bullets are mine.
My DNA is on the special ARRRGH! label “Double Dog Dare Ya” bottle. Having a real boat’s name on a bottle ought to be worth a fortune!
Oh! So you are the Lone Ranger?
There’s a sucker born every minute.
-P.T. Barnum
Wow, I wonder what’s left in my burn pile! Might cheer me up if I don’t win the powerball tonight.
What bobsbezerkolounge has done here is clearly a homage to the works of Henrique Oliveira. Looking at the 7th down of these photos, you can clearly see the board of Oliveira’s to which this is a tribute. Brilliant! http://www.contemporist.com/2009/03/12/henrique-oliveira-at-the-rice-gallery/
Matt, I would stay away from that BUNG HOLE PLUG part
🙁 🙁 🙁
Wow, I guess I should have copyrighted my “Woodyboater Ranch” display where I buried 4 boats with bows sticking out of the ground a la the “Cadillac Ranch”. Living in “uptown” Atlanta yrs ago among million $$ mansions a block away from me in my little 950 sq ft bungalow on 3 acres I did some unconventional “landscaping” in the back yard just because I could.
Hey Matt, there is a big difference between having “big balls” and just being a huckster. This guy may have a lot of chutzpah, but he is just looking for a sucker looking for someone with more money than brains. What has he actually done to challenge my title?
