Maybe A Boat Ride Could Save Us All From Us All.
Well, this is all coming to a climatic moment tomorrow. Regardless of who wins, sadly we are all going to lose. Most of DC is boarded up expecting the worst, and most metropolitan areas are on guard. We are a country sadly divided. So, in a last ditch effort to help. I would like to invite Joe and Donald for a boat ride together. TODAY! NOW! We will take a wood boat and head out. Get sprayed with cold water, smell fumes, and laugh about when America was great, and then if we are lucky, break down because of some dam Chinese Condenser.
Cause nuthn brings a crew together like a break down. And a tow in. Which gives you gobs of time to work out your differences. And we may find that we all have something deeply in common. We are all Americans.. And we are all in the same boat!
When you live on the west coast you never get to be the first person to post. Well, unless the time change fouled you up and you can’t sleep at 4 a.m.
Great post, Matt. More people than you know appreciate your 365 days per year on the job performance than you’ll ever know.
Absolutely!
Ha, welcome to the first commenter club.
Great idea Matt. I wish it would happen..
The stage is sure set now.
There’s nothing like a Faribault blanket to bring people together.
Matt, only you could come up with a story like this. I wish it was that easy. Let’s hope for the best. I still believe that this is a great country!
The Boat ride may get them to forget their differences for a short time. It’s going to take one party or another to do something positive to turn this around. Too much animosity.
My ancestors always told me that running a business and driving a car are a lot like politics:
“A little to right, a little to the left, keep it out of the damn ditches and always keep moving forward”.
We currently have a few big potholes in the highway ahead…….
A great idea! Yesterday we had a high of 34 with snow and gale force winds which would have taken the rhetoric out of anyone.
Tomorrow I will vote in my 12th presidential election. Some elections went the way I preferred and some didn’t but that’s life – you don’t always get to be on the winning side.
On Wednesday morning I will get up, go to work and continue on with my life because contrary to what some people would like you to think I still believe that we are all still decent people that will persevere.
Often our leaders are actually much more civil to each other than the public who support them.
The candidates realize it is a job and a power grab.
Great!
Molly-O boated too t
Save the wave!!!
Matt, well done, and a great header!!
👍. I second that rivaguru
Some of our Presidents have been known to take boat rides.
Yep!
Even LBJ was into classic glass! Well… okay it wasn’t classic when he owned it.https://www.kxan.com/news/lbjs-custom-boat-restored-to-former-glory-by-new-owners/
And then of course there is this! President H. W Bush. on board his newly delivered Fountain with his buddy Reggie Fountain on board. Apparently the President had many Fountains through the years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6A705awvbk
I wish I could say something positive about these times.
I’m positive I’m totally fed up with the whole thing!
There I did.
Matt,
Thank you for making me laugh when I opened your post and saw the “I boated” header. Regardless of our individual preferences you did good today!
I think you’re right. Until we all get in the same boat, it will be every man (or woman) for himself (or herself). Our common needs and interests are much greater than those that separate us. If we really work on those, we won’t have time, or any other resources, for anything else. Georg Soros and his ilk can find another country to bother.
Somehow, the theme song for “Gilligan’s Island” keeps popping into my head…
Ha! You may be on to something. Half of us want that vamp Ginger and the other half wants the loveable, sexy and oh so beautiful MaryAnne.
That second pic looks like they were digging in the HH-66
I wonder if and how the woody boat nation will fair ? Based on who wins the election ? Policy, Environment, Business , Jobs, Stock market, all factors?

Tomorrow will be like James Cameron made Titanic 2.0. Whomever loses will not accept the results and the winners will claim a “huge mandate” from the people and will ram thru policies that do not take into account the others. Trump’s biggest legacy will be that of having sown permanent division.
We may as well draw up one or more Mason Dixon line(s) and get it over with.
I cant wait to hear the lack of sound coming from a classic wood boat propelled by an electric motor!! hey on a brighter note…we don’t have to worry about points caps and rotors any more!

Boat, AND BOAT often!
