“Motion Sickness”, Meet “Emotion Sickness”. “Sea Sick”, Meet “See Sick”.
Sure we all know about people with “Motion Sickness” or being Sea Sick. Okay, we are inventing a new term, or terms. Emotion Sickness, Or See Sick! See clever spelling errors can sometimes be the catalyst for inspiration. Here are the symptoms.
1. You own a white plastic boat made in the past two decades.
2. You don’t look at your boat in the barn and think. I LOVE YOU POOCHIE PANTS.
3. When you are out on your plastic tub, you have no emotion about the boat. It’s merely a vehicle to move you .. physically.
4. You haven’t taken care of your boat, in fact you are pissed when “for some reason” it ran out of oil, or broke down.
5. You own a pontoon boat. Period. Jet Ski comma, or any boat with one of those 1980’s workout looking swooshes.
Now you may think I am being harsh here. But think about your woody boat through these questions, and the answer is the complete opposite. I have said this for 11 years. When you are out on, no wait. WITH your Woody Boat, you are are emotionally well. All your feelings, your passion, your heart is running like a healthy tri-athlete. You are one with the water, one with the mahogany, nature, air, and with a slight hint of oil and varnish all firing away in your brain cylinders. Screaming at 3000 rpm to your place of true happiness. Can you say that about your dam pontoon boat? Are there Pontoon boat shows? NO! Why because who wants to go see a bunch of dam soulless, emotionally sick Mini Van on the water. UGH!
See Sickness, is the feeling you get when you are out there in your emotional craft taking it all in, and some plastic mosquito of a jet ski rips in front of you with some fat 14 year old with no clue. Yup, you See Sickness! And it drains your moment, thus becoming Emotion sick. There, I am all fired up now. Where is Dim. I am ready, bring on your little troll comments you, you , you … well, I am a gentleman so I will be polite.
Wow. What happened to agnostic “why can’t we just get along” Matt ?
I hear you and agree BTW. The only plastic that I would ever own would be a classic Whaler.
Bingo, did that last fall, and she is timeless…
So is that 90 h.p. BIG six “Tower of Power on the back. All vintage 1984.
Shoot, NOW I got winter blues all of a sudden.
He had to die today! I got a good nights sleep, and woke up with some energy. It’s all okay now, I am tired again.
Sausage day is finally over, back to the bacon. I’ll slice up another 30 lbs for the Christmas party and then hit Craigslist and seek out a perfect pontoon to bring to Tavares this year.
Absolutely LOVE the pontoon cheese platter!!! PERFECT!
Please don’t waste bacon on a pontoon.
Matt, it’s just like you got inside my head this morning. I can totally relate to this.
The foodpontoon is pretty clever.
Don’t worry Jim, I can save a special stack of center cut for you!
BTW, we were discussing art a few days back. Tell me this pig didn’t eat all that silly veggie stuff and turn it into art! I got a couple very meaty bellies in this batch.
the toy truck and trailer,is that a Buddy L, or Tonka?
Wood comes from nature and breaks down naturally. Pig fat is the closest animal fat to human fat and breaks down naturally in our bodies. So, boating in the wood and eating of the bacon are healthier choices for our environment and our bodies. Avoid plastics and margarines.
I want that Tonka pontoon boat sooooo bad.
Spent the morning putting what I hope to be the last coat of primer on the topside of my vintage plastic. It may the combination of paint fumes and classic rock playing in the barn for 3 hours but I have become “emotionally attached” to this girl! Just love the shape of her rear end! Snowing now…time for some football-
Wait, that is pretty cool though. Maybe Matt will do a complete story on your boat when you finish…assuming he doesn’t get a good night’s sleep….as I d like to see more photos.
Hi Briant, Matt has run a couple of stories on it. If you would like to see the pictures to date, search lake n sea on this site or you can get to the videos by going to the lakensea dot org dot worldpress dot com . Two videos done, third will be compiled in a week or so.
Redskins are not worth watching today…..back to the barn-
I resisted a pontoon for 15 years for the wife, all it needed was a little mahogany and varnish
