Prepping For Another 2020 Gift
Let’s see, Pandemic, Murder Hornets, and now a Hurricane. Oh and Regis passed away… AHHHHHHHH! I have a screw loose for sure. NO REALLY, tons of them on old dock boards. The Generator has not been started in a year. The one good thing is that if the power goes out, The News wont be on! I swear, and I do swear at the TV, Everything is fear based. There was an entire 5 minute segment on the local news on how there is a surge in copperhead snakes. REALLY?
No 5 minute segment on rusty manafolds? Or maybe a story on resilience, and hope, what about a story on how Animal Shelters are empty because all the dogs and cats have been adopted. How about stories on how businesses have adapted, and proven that Americans are creative and positive.
So today, I am prepping for the first real storm of the year for us here in Virginia. If all goes as it always does here this time of year. It will be a rain storm for a couple days. Our bad hurricanes happen when ever there is an ACBS International show. Like clock work.
RANT OVER. Happy Header Day!
That photo of your flooded docks looks nasty. Just a steady rain today here in Michigan. Good luck and stay safe!
Do you have a cover for Stinky or just let her take a bath?
I would fill it with soap and let the rain do it’s thing!
I have had water over the decks in MollY-O’S boat house for 2 months due to high water levels……it SUCKS!!
In these uncertain times where it is necessary to wear a mask this one is thinking out of the box
Here on the big sand bar called Florida, our media are milking the ratings cow till she is dry. They have got the pilgrims all spooled up with forecasts of atmospheric armageddon. They are relieved to be finally able to face a disaster they understand. The lines are forming for toilet paper, milk, and bread. Generators are humming and chain saws are being sharpened. Caravans of utility crews are heading down. Sandbags are being filled pumps are being tested and liquor sales are peaking. We are pregnant with anticipation for what will probably be 50 mph winds 60 miles offshore.
OMG and here in the NW we have to face another day of sunshine due to rain shadow off the Olympics? You guys are dealing with green canal water and we end up with El Nino.
Sorry!
Since we are talking about the strange stuff going on in 2020 here is a quote from The Portland Press Harold. (Yes that is Portland Maine, not Portland Oregon)
“A recently retired fashion industry executive was killed by a great white shark while swimming near her summer home on Bailey Island in Harpswell Monday afternoon.
Julie Dimperio Holowach, 63, was identified Tuesday as the victim of what is the first documented fatal shark attack in Maine. Holowach also lived in New York City and Naples, Florida.”
Great White attach in Maine, who’d a guessed it.
Puget Sound has giant Octopuses, definitely not octopi, sharks, seals, killer whales and submarines. I stick to the lakes but who knows what is in 900 ft depths of my lake.
