End of the day!

End of the day!

This nice sunset shots today from Alex Watson to help start your day, BUT last night Paul Harrison sent us a horrible photo, but for the sake of saving your day, you must click on the read more link to see.

I will not cry, I will not cry.. bbbbb, IIII wiiilll bbbb not .. Ahhhhhhh

BBBBBBBB, I will not cry, I will not cry.. bbbbb, IIII wiiilll bbbb not .. Ahhhhhhh

OK, OK, OK, now, for the record, Paul lives way , way way up north in Canada.. an 8 hr drive from Montana north. Like the North pole north. And its just a dusting.. Right? nothing big, just a little rpowder? Right? This aint gonna happen here? Right? Anyway, it did remind me, that the best rides happen at the end of the day. The time on our boats is all magical time, but near the end of the season its all that much richer. Each wif of varnish and gas are treasured to be remembered during those winter days.  So for the sake of us all, this weekend go out and take photos, lots of photos.. So we can share them all winter. And next week, head up to NY for the big International show and bring your sniffer, cause the varnish and gas is going to fill the air with magic!

Haven’t seen any of that white stuff down here in Florida where it was 86 yesterday…..Must have something to do with the almost full moon which was gorgeous shimmering on the Gulf

I will be going also. I sure hope this cold weather ( high Friday and Saturday of only 60 degrees, and a low of 41 forecasted) is not a sign of a long, long cold winter like last year, in the Great Lakes…

There is ANOTHER snowfall warning out for today up here! Matt, we are only about 2.5 hours north of the Montana border and they are getting it down there as well.

Very unusual to have this much snow this early, pretty much a record for us I think. It was over 80 on Sunday. We usually get some September snow, but normally near the end of the month and much less accumulation.

Is that a Steelcraft in Alex’s shot? Hard to tell, but it might be.

Paul, yes she is. I was out for a boat ride and got lucky. Best part about this particular boat was that she had a 1/4 tire on her bow, just like a tug. A genuine user.

Hmmm. Whenever I am out in the boat and get lucky, I am usually not focused on the finer details of the other boats.

Jack, no snow in Manistee yet. On the shore of lake Michigan, the water is unsalted and the salmon are running here as usual. No bears just fisherman. Hops & Props (beer & boats) starts Friday at 3 p.m. At the city marina.

Wow. Gonna be about 80 plus here in Oregon today. The kids want to go tubing after the 18th of October to beat the time a few years back when we tried to win the Last Gasp award. (Think real and/or fake leaves and a brewha between Lily and Mike). So thankfully we stil have a month plus of boating before it gets unpleasant. Snow rarely comes and that is not until Jan or Feb….

Sunset cruises are one of my favorite times to boat. Here in Grand Haven, MI we go out the channel, and watch the sunset over Lake Michigan (Milwaukee, actually) and then cruise close to the pier head, and watch all the tourist (read bikinis) head back into town or the State Park.
Then as it gets darker, we stop, and watch the Musical Fountain show in downtown, Grand Haven.
In June/ July it will not get dark till 10 pm here, since we are on the edge of the Eastern time Zone!

Supposed to be 80 in Shelton, WA for a classic car and boat event being held on Mason Lake this weekend. Glad Karen and Paul got yesterdays great Last Gasp in and shared it! Looks like they have been given a sign to put’em away…

Any time I see the smallest flake, I have an irrational fear of cracked blocks. Always a tough decision when to end the season.
