What To Do If Reading WoodyBoater Pisses You Off?

It seems lately we have been pissing folks off. Okay, maybe not we, maybe me. I will add, that this sort of thing brings me great pleasure, and more importantly, clicks. From time to time, not all the time, you all LOVE some good drama. It explains why CNN and Fox do so well in the ratings. You hate it all so much you click. Kinda like “Rubber Necking” on the highway. You are pissed off to no end while in traffic, yet once you pass by the meat wagon, you too slow down. Hey! I am guilty as charged. So. what to do.

We are all goof balls

LAUGH! Just laugh. It’s dribble and negative energy that will drain you. And know this simple fact. If you met the douche bag in person, he or she is funny, nice and you could spend hours having a belly whacking good time with them. I know this for a fact since I know who many of the trouble makers are. They are pals. Seems odd? But ya? Trumpers? Socialist commies? wait, is that comma, coma? Socialist comma’s would be funny. Anyway. That difference in all of us is energy and if you deal with it right can be fun and entertaining. As long as it never gets personal. Thats the line.

The look!

Something to consider. Email, or in our case comments are to be read without emotion. Because the person that is behind them is not there to see smiling as they write about your crappy boat. Hence it’s said with humor, not anger. You cant see that in an email. We have clients at our office that write incredibly nasty emails. Yet, in person are very kind and understanding. Email can be a horrible way to emote sarcasm and fun. So here is what I do. I wait. And do the “Serenity Now” routine, and try and see if there is some sort of reason for the jab. AND who its from. A reference point also always helps.

Dim! We miss you. NOT

So, Trolls, and others that from time to time get deleted or counter attacked. You have a home here. Hell, Woody Boater got its start based on being insulted. Your little attacks of late are child’s play compared to the On Gold Pond crap. 120 Comments a day of ship talk.. ahhhhhh the good old days. I have been called every name under the book.. BY THE WAY.. Woody Floater is my #1 Favorite. Still cracks me up.

HAPPY HEADER DAY!

Personally I think people take you (they must have never met you in person), this hobby, and themselves WAY to seriously! That being said I think a LOT of people are very uptight due to this Holliday season being so strange with Covid.

How about a header day of Babe pics from the comment section? I think Floyde R Turbo has put up some of the best.

Since we are talking about PISSING people off and “The Good Old Days”, I thought I would bring back an old friend.

time to lighten up for sure.
So here in my little community in ole Va we just lost at age 83 the longest serving county supervisor in history. Ultimate politician and good guy. One time he finds himself in a 3 way race…hard to win….he is a Diary Farmer….takes his family and farm workers to the polls….ends up he wins by 3 votes…says if he hadn’t taken them in he would have won by 8! Laugh here.

I love the sarcastic humor. We all need to laugh. Especially at this whole year. Remember, being pissed off is better than being pissed on. Lmao!

Whenever I hear that statement I think “Well, I guess it depends on who is doing the pissing.”

I will avoid an image on this comment.

WB never pisses me off. Some of the commenters do once in awhile. I usually think about their stupidity a little before I respond, or just don’t respond at all that day. WB makes me laugh, think, remember, dream, and escape the bullshit that we are all enduring.

OK – My complaint is that each time I look at the first photo I feel the need to go to the bathroom [just kidding – kind of].

A long time ago I heard the saying that “opinions are like a–holes – everyone has one and most of them stink”. I have found that saying to be very profound.

The real questions is “When’s the Christmas Party”!

So is this the tenth straight year I was left off the VIP pre-invite list?

As for getting pissed off, the only thing on Woodyboater that gets my blood pressure up is when Troy posts inappropriate pictures that objectify quality pork products.

I try to remember we’re all gonna be dead sooner than we realize. Why waste the time worrying? Might as well laugh instead!

On any of the days where negative comments seem to rule the conversation, I just search for something I loved on another day. Like the Shootout, for instance. The comments that day were hilarious. Think: Bond vs. Griswald. Did we ever have another shootout???

Having reported on a few events, sometimes I relive those great days by finding the old reports and remembering friends I have not seen in WAY TOO LONG.

I’ve never even met Matt, but I think him for the forum he has provided for us to share a common love: Retro boating!
