The Woody Boatress on the left and fellow boatress Lynn having a chat on the back of Suzy on the Great Wicomico River. Note to self... I am the luckiest slob on the planet!
80 degrees and balmy here in Reedville Va on the Northern Neck of Virginia. Perfect puffy clouds and lots of great folks out on the water enjoying life. Even Fellow Woody Boater Clif Aimes was out on his new..to him.. very cool 17 Sportsman that he just picked up from Katz’s Marina last week.
Clif's cool new 17 Sportsman with Lynn - What a neat little boat. Clif is like a 10 year old with that thing!
Clif and Lynn headed up the Great Wicomico
Oreo with the Boatress after Oreo's first real swim!
The harvy's and Smiths out having fun
The Boatress and her girls pulling up the crab pots. She does this twice a day. This is defentaltly a good year for crabbing on the bay!
The small catch in there temp home.. Shhh dont tell them, this is better then the next home they are about to stay in.. No AC!
Not only is there no AC in this new home, we are going to turn the heat up!
Going out in the early sun rise fishing with pal and local rock star realtor Becky Haynie.. need a cool Waterfront home? She will show you the area by boat.. A WOODYBOAT!.. She knows the area like the back of her hand.
We caught to many fish! DANG! My Sons of varnish shirt is shot.. I wish I had a spare.. UGH..
Life does not get much better.
I’s a different world here in Michigan. 93 degrees and storms this afternoon. The Boatress is catching crabs from your dock while Marianne is feeding her pet Bluegills stale bread chunks from our dock. They come at her like a pack of perhanas when she walks ot there!
90 degrees here on Grand Lake, OK. Too many drunken crazies in big plastic boats for my comfort! Daddy Had One & I will go out for a lunch cruise on Tuesday. Foxes are playing in the yard!
PS I am really envious of those Blue Crabs!!!
Happy Memorial Day everyone from an 80 degree Hessel, where the beaches are replete with penguins all slathered up with SPF 90.
And a happy Memorial Day to all those basking in the 80º+ temps, from those of us in the GNW sheltering from the 30 kt. breeze, rain and the 50º temps….
Summer in the San Juans was yesterday.
Hot and humid in Oklahoma. Installing the engine into Elysian our 1959 Riva.
Looking forward to the first water test videos.
Tropical Depression Beryl dumps on Florida all weekend long. You’ll are livin the dream, we’re just watchin the rain bands float over us all day. It’s a good thing if we’re going to have another boat show next year. Our lakes are extremely low and need every drop that’s falling.
We’re enjoying 96deg. temps here at Lazy Days RV Park in Missouri not far from St. Louis. We could have been in the Woody Boat on the river but we chose the land yacht instead.
Remember to remember the meaning of the day…
The day started being celebrated following the Civil War as Decoration Day when war widows began decorating un-marked graves near their homes. It caught on Nation-wide; more than just a 3-day weekend. Pause for a moment and remember to remember.
Oh, and don’t forger; Lift & Sniff!
that’s – don’t “forget”…
A tragic explosion near St. Louis on Friday morning is a stern reminder that it could happen to any of us. Be careful and have fun…
Indeed it was a fine holiday weekend in the NN! Jane and I cruised the GW River but didn’t see any of you sportsmen. It was especially hard to leave for NoVA this afternoon. Back to the grind. Our kids in Savannah report hight tides but not very impressive winds or rain from Beryl. Is the weather service exaggerating? SAY IT AIN’T SO!
Too many once a year plastic boaters on the bay for me this weekend….soooo I “cruised” up to the Shenandoah Valley!
Nice pics at Reedville though…..Matt: you look like Art Garfunkel with that fish cleaning doo……”here’s to you Mrs. Robinson….”
John in Va.
Must be nice!, got 6″ of the white stuff last 24hrs. Last week 70 degrees, kayaking on the Mighty Mo, this week snow advisories, must be the Montana Rockies!. Even though its frozen, its still H2O which we can always use up here. Hail to the Greatest Generation!!! Heres to you DAD! SALUT
Thanks Matt for the first photos of “Natalie” Tom Carter:
next time you have “Bay Lady” out give me a holler. It’s much easier to get “Natalie” out than my big old boat. Im on Whays Creek.
Will do, Clif. How are things coming for this Fall’s show? BTW, I’m thinking of entering my latest barn find–a 1950s homebuilt runabout with Fastwin 15 that was stored dry and dark for over 50 years.
