Boating in the 40’s – Something Nice To Watch Tonight
Fun viewing for the evening. Now you don’t have to watch the Biggest Looser tonight.. Not that watching this over and over for that hour does not make you a big looser.. Thanks to fellow Woody Boater Philip Sarfaty for finding this..
My wife gasped when she watched the launch. We’re so careful to ease our baby in slowly and here they just back up to a river bank, no ramp and literally just dump her in. LMAO.
I guess they wait to put in the engine for a weight issue.
Ahhh the good ole days.. Just chuck that thing in there
HA – I hope the guys that operate the gantry at Sierra Boat Company get a chance to see this delicate launch procedure from back in the day.
Compared to the fine job they do at Lake Tahoe launching those priceless antique boats, I’m sure they would have a few laughs seeing this…
I am familiar with that launch method, although mine was unintended with a roller trailer! I’ll send a picture if I can find it! 🙂
Those Lapstrakes are tough boats and light.
Hey Matt maybe would could get the Queen or the Prince to cut the ribbon on the new website.
Funny you mentioned the Royal Family… These are delicate times because we are hoping that Woody Boater will get an invitation to the Royal Wedding on April 29th at Westminster Abbey in London.
We were so happy that they decided to schedule the wedding on a weekend that there were no major boat shows scheduled – or we would have to pass on the invitation…
Oh ya, If we get an invitation we will be the guys wearing the Special Edition Classic Boat Hats (in black of course).
I sent this link to my dad’s cousin, Tony & his wife, Pam in the UK…I know they will enjoy it. Great video…
