Commanding The Heat In A 1968 Commander

Headed out for a fun cruise. In the shade

There is nothing like a nice slow cruise on a cruiser, but on a hot day, a little speed can be nice. The other day we had the chance to ride for a while on a nice 1968 31′ Chris Craft Commander for sale by the Reedville Fishermens Museum.

Yes it’s plastic, about an inch thick plastic security though.

Of course we are always interested in a cool cruiser, and this one has some nice goodies, and has been repowered with twin Chysler Engines, and only two owners, the last one a Coast Guard guy, so you know its all ship shape. The optional hard top came in handy as did the huge windsheilds that open. At a nice 10 knot clip, you could feel the cool draft from all over the boat. Such is the thing with great design, it takes into consideration all sorts of details you only think of when you are in a certain situation. Like a 100 degree day!

Totally bullet proof and really nice boat. And Troy, Matt has paid his cruiser dues….but I agree that boatress would look good in that one!

    John in Va.
