Great, Now I Am A Flake, Time Waster and Picture Collector!

Yesterday I got an email from a guy who knows a guy, who was told I might be the guy who would love and worship an un restored Yellow Jacket Boat. Free. But he wanted to talk on the phone first. Okay, I get that. Fair. But I had been and was in meetings all day and still working as of 9PM. So I asked, can you send me some snap shots so we can talk about it. Okay? Well, I got this answer.

Oh ok don’t call me then (NAME) I don’t want to talk to you.  I have to go out uncover it take pictures of the top sides inside pull out all the seats from storage take pictures of all brightwork top deck trailer pictures of the titles and lose a lot of money on the boat and trailer and give it away for free to a person that doesn’t want to talk to me over the phone just send pics I don’t want to talk to you leave me alone  I need people that are serious I will have to pass I am very tired of flakes and time wasters and picture collectors   Good bye

YIKES!  Now note, No photos. Frustrating? Right. It’s like you are in the dark.  So? And its in Nevada? Utah? Is it so hard to have photos ready? I get it, just come and get it, its free. So quit your bitch’n and asking for me to do crap. I get that. For the record, this is a normal email for us. Except, photos are usually involved as some sort of reference.

I know this may seem like I am being picky, but its not un common for museums and other places to refuse even a donation. The boat can become a liability. A yellow jacket? An easy resto, and fun. But maybe not worth any big money in the end. So it has to be a real passion for Yellow jacket thing. Here is a cool video of Yellow Jacket History thanks to the good folks that run the Yellow Jacket Boat Website.

Great video – made my morning.

In regards to the person with the boat no one deserves that response. Even for free I would like to see pictures of what I might be getting involved with before I made the commitment. Just common sense.

Obviously he had not had his coffee yet. Ha! There’s lots of farts out there that feel their time is the most important of all. Just ask them. Lol. Great video! Enjoy ready Woody Boater everyday.

Very nicely done video. The Roy Rogers episode he showed a couple of clips from is available on Youtube. Some advertiser bought the rights for all of the Roy Rogers’ shows. The interesting part is all the boats including a couple at the dock all sport Mercury’s on them but the funny part is when Roy comes back to the dock he takes one dock line from what looks like under the dash, pulls it through the steering wheel and loosely secures it as if he tying up a horse!

If the guy giving away the “free” Yellow Jacket who knows a guy who a knows a guy got your name via your website, one of those guys probably is reading all these comments today. Reading that would be an ultimate statement on how not to treat a person.

    Read ’em and weep.

I have a friend in Texas that has a Yellow Jacket. He towed it all the way to Michigan and showed it during the Presque Isle show a couple of years back. It was a very nicely done boat.

Yellow Jackets rock! I have two, one is for spare parts. I’d rather drive it than my 25’ Sportsman Matt. The Crosley based inboard motor can be rebuilt on your kitchen table if a valve goes bad. I’d put up with the guy so you can be be with the cool kids!! Giddy up Cowboy and get a Roy Rogers cowboy hat instead of a captains cap!!!! Hahaha. Now I don’t need a nap this afternoon

Hmmmm….Hope this isn’t some wooden boat mafia guy trying to lure you out into the dessert for a whack job. Just remember this – if you’re asked to step on a tarp instead of looking under one, that’s not a good sign. Also, beware of a ‘free’ Riva or knot?
