Mr B And I Built A Mr”B”each
Mr “B”each is now ready for company, and not a day too soon. We have a small gathering of my ad agency here on Thursday night to celebrate 20 years in business. Yup, 20 years ago I stepped out onto the ledge of my owndum. Well, they requested a fire pit for the party and so they, we I got a fire pit, and to top it all off, I added a truck load of sand.
And of course Mr B had to help. He is a digging machine, and to be honest with you, did a darn good job. And he had just come from the hair dresser.. Wait, Barber Shop. The girls went to the hair dresser. Hopefully we dont get any crazy tides over the next couple days. Ya I know. But life is like that.
Shoveling sand is at least easier to move than gravel. Nice job!
I suppose shoveling sand is better than pounding sand?
B’s duties are expanded to include lookout for neighborhood cats.
Watched people more adventurous than I, go boating yesterday! My husband & I took the Miata down alongside the mighty Ohio, about 35 miles to Madison, IN. Those who were at Algonac’s 100 years of Chris Craft show, may remember the hydroplane on display. We arrived at the “Bill Cantrell Race Course” just in time to see “White Lightning” race! (Screen grab from video)
Better photo of White Lightning.
Kelly thanks for the pictures of White Lightning running at speed. Paul has joined us in Algonac for many years to promote vintage APBA racing. Not many guys in their 80’s are still in the cockpit of a hydroplane. A great guy that I truly respect!
Wow, did not realize he’s that old while speaking with him at Algonac. The announcers yesterday, mentioned that 3 of the racers there are past 80! I find that awesome & hope to be doing so well in 20 years.
Didn’t hear if they plan to restore this Miss Atlas Van Lines or leave it as found. It’s Allison V12 was on display near by.
It will be restored to it’s original configuration — Pay’n’Pak Little Buzzard. It was only painted as the Atlas for the movie Madison.
This is the screen shot for the National Boat Racing Heritage Center in Madison that has formed to showcase these historic race boats.
… for some unknown reason (or, Matt would know) the attached photo for the above comment did not appear. 2nd try:
Thanks for the info, Randy. I realize it’s “Hollywooded”, but love that movie!
Just one more – probably my favorite photo of the day.
Damn Kelly, thats quite a picture! I hope no one was injured. I remember seeing ” White Lighting” at Algonac. It’s good to see her running at high speed. Thanks for sharing .
No injuries – all in the perspective! Boat on the course is well off shore, from the one being hoisted by the crane, to be set back on it’s trailer.
Ok from looking at the picture. It looks like he went airborne. Madison is a cool place.
Sand looks great and the neighborhood CATS will love it….if you know what I mean.
Mr. B will have something to dig up soon….until the tide…ever the tide.
Congrats on 20 years in business from a guy that just passed 50ith!
John in Va.
Loved the B each at RMR. I was able to take a quick break at the Reedville Boat Show last week , and pulled a cold drink from the cooler and I just sat there and took in the ambience. It was PERFECT I could have sat there for hours…..It was high tide so it was a little wet. You read my mind by adding sand, which will come in handy when we have really high tides and you have to fill sandbags for the building. (Sandbags are cheap when you buy in bulk and dont take any space to store… .unfilled) Keep up the good work!
A giant litter box that will be washed away…or somewhere…by rising waters?
A solution to both would be to pour a bunch of clear epoxy on it. Might be expensive, but watching B and the cats trying to dig it would be worth the price of admission.
You and Mr. B have been sooooo busy you missed this one:
The best of ‘boat’ worlds!!!!
Ziggy’s not sure he can eat all that sand… but he’ll certainly try
