On the road to the gym and then maybe kayaking. Gotta lose some of this Thanksgiving weight before I start adding the Christmas weight. Or maybe I can just paint a new water line on the Sportsman, and get a bigger engine. I think the front seat is also getting smaller (must be due to the wood swelling).

I feel you pain, brother…

Great fall color on that Coca-Cola truck! Is Seth having a black Friday sale?
Greg Lewandowski says:
Getting the house back in order after Thanksgiving celebrations. What’s going on at Katz Marina?
Don Ayers says:
Christmas stuff being unpacked and giving the boat the shaft today…
m-fine says:
I hope you mean a new drive shaft.
Dennis Mykols says:
My ex-wife did that to me back in 88…
Don Ayers says:
Yep, she’s getting one right up the strut

Maybe if you buy another boat or two with Seth he’ll actually invite you to Thanksgiving dinner, not just for sloppy seconds the next day!!
Alex says:
After running in shorts yesterday, the temp has fallen 40 degrees and there’s snow on the ground in Northern MI.
IT HAS BEGUN! How on earth will I make it through 6+ more months of white desert? I’m serious. Dora helps. Like a big drink of water after crossing said desert. But even that’s 4 months away. And after Dora, there’s still over 2 more months of desert to cross.
Looked up “Snow Boat” on Google Images just now. Saw this. http://www.amphibiousvehicle.net/amphi/SS/snowboat.jpeg (Surely it will never come to owning something that atrocious?) And then, there were the pics of boats sitting on snow, boats covered with snow, boats in falling snow, boats sunk by snow…
Out, damned snow! out, I say!—One: two: why, then, ’tis time to do’t.—Hell is murky!
Cobourg Kid says:
Hey Alex, don’t be so glum, global warming will fix that little problem. Six months of winter no more.. THe trade off, low water levels in the Great Lakes. Here in Cobourg that means the beach grows another 50 feet and beach volleyball tournaments grow exponentially! The bad news …we are going to have to dredge the dang harbour twice a year and use ladders to get to the boats.
If you catch Seth actually doing some work get a photo!
Greg Lewandowski says:
Hey Alex, think on the positive side. We need all of that snow a cold temperatures to feeze the Great Lakes and start to move the lake levels in the right direction again. I that doesn’t work, take up skiing!
floyd r turbo says:
Can you find a hill in Michigan to ski down? If you run, ice skating is a great alternative in the winter although I’m happy to run in any weather except for a driving rain. It was 65 at the finish of my half marathon yesterday morning tho, doesn’t get much better than that. But I sure do miss lake skating we did in Maine.
Alex says:
Greg, that’s the best positive I can think of. In my family every time it rains, the kids say “great for The Lakes, Dad.” If that doesn’t work, well, I’ve been looking at hovercraft. No kidding.
Floyd R, big outdoor ice rink is 10 minutes away, and ski hills are 20 minutes drive, complete with ski bunnies, Bell’s Beer, and outdoor wood fire. But who are we kidding. It doesn’t come close to the in-(short)season boat doings we so enjoy (and running shirtless — as a fellow runner, I’m sure you’ll agree).
Is there such a thing as short term cryogenic freezing? Boats are seasonally decommissioned. Can people be?
Jay Wagner says:
Ted Williams tried it ( the freezing ) and google him up and see what happened!
