Road Trip Fun-ish

UGH – I like my BBQ tires shredded

Sorry, no boat photos today. You can blame a metal something in the middle of the highway that shredded a rear tire. We were all set for a hail Mary drive home from New Orleans to Reedville. And BAMA. Somewhere  between Alabama and Georgia.

This was on the highway, door was being held by the driver and flying open. Love the spare tire. How is it, this is working and my car isnt? HA

Such is the fun of a road trip. Maybe I am channeling my inner Paul and Karen Harrison?

relax and drive safe….you are way better off than the two missing boaters in our shared neighborhood. seems two 59 year olds have disappeared in the Rappahannock River. Boston Whaler found….not them. Strange. Be careful when Going Boating.

Prayers for their safe return. We had 3 men rescued 2 nights ago fishing in an inflatable raft, 2 paddles in the Sound in 20 mph wind. What could possibly go wrong?

At least you were not on the side of the road in the rain.

Boating in the rain is a little bit more fun.

Could be worse, my brother ran over a bicycle laying in the middle of I-95 in Bridgeport, Conn at 4 AM in the morning that had fallen off someones bike rack. It punctured the oil pan of their brand new Ford Escape on their way to Maine. Luckily, he killed the engine and rolled to the side of the road. Took them all week to repair.

Looks like you may have hit something that fell off that green Toyota because it’s missing a few parts. And it looks like the owner is a few cards short of a full deck.

Thanks for the fun comments today, it made the drive home more fun. We just made it safe. A huge shout out to Gerald Jones Lincoln who saved the day, literally. They had 1 tire in stock my size. I called them at 7AM and 1/2 later after going there, I was out of there. They made room and were fantastic. I know the ads talk about Lincoln dealer support. You never realize how important that stuff that seems like puff, means when you need it. The Boatress loves her Lincoln MKC.

Matt, This is way off the boat track but, since you gave kudos to Gerald Jones Lincoln I’d like to do same for Martin Ford in Youngstown, OH. We were crossing the country on I-80 when I blew a steering hose. Managed to get off the interstate and called around for help . Martin Ford said they would put us to the head of the line. Limped in at lunch time. they had us on the road by 6:00.
Few years back we punctured a motorcycle tire outside Fairbanks AK. Plugged it and limped to Fairbanks Honda. They didn’t have that size but called as far away as Anchorage and had Anchorage Honda put one on hold and they stayed open to mount it it for us.. Great folks
