Start Your Florida Trip A Little Early. PARTY ON THURSDAY MARCH 26th 4 PM-8PM!
I know we had buried this invite the other day, so in case you missed it, and you’re coming to Florida for the big show, THURSDAY night at The Antique Boat Center at Rejuvenation Boat Works is the place to be. The official show starts on Friday, but many show up on Thursday to get settled in. The good folks at the Antique Boat Center, Hagerty Marine Insurance, The Sunnyland Chapter, the Chris Craft Antique Boat Club and Woody Boater are all chipping in for the fun BBQ thing. By the way, the best BBQ in the area.. This is a less formal thing, just show up, and look around and enjoy the fellowship of fellow Woody Boaters. For those of you that have never been to Rejuvenation, it’s one cool building. A former rail building with arched ceilings and cool classic boat texture all around.
Here is the address. Time 4pm-8pm
I’ll be there with my crew. Probably have to party twice as hard for missing uncle Lou’s shindig the weekend before.
We plan to be there. We are arriving on the Sunday before and are looking forward to a full week in the sun. Other than riding on Lakes Dora, Eustis and Harris we plan to take a drive over to Blue Spring State Park to see the Manatees. Some one suggested we take the boat with us and launch over there for a ride. What other fun sites or things to do can people recommend for the days leading up to the show?
yes – Southbound St. Johns River Cruise – a very popular event before the show, and also after. You can also boat the St. Johns River for a day or two if you lack the time to do the whole cruise. We will be in and around Palatka on Monday/Tuesday, before heading down to Astor on Wednesday. A stop at Blue Springs in on the cruise agenda.
Silver Glen Springs on the side of Lake George is accessible by boat or car and a nice place to spend a day.
When you run over to Blue Spring State Park to view the Manatees leave your boat on your trailer. Boats are not permitted on the water during Manatee season. You’ll be there right near the end of the season and it’ll be packed. Take a Canoe or a small Dory that you can row.
Thanks Jim, Paul and Bill for the tips and suggestions. The St. John’s Cruise is on my bucket list but not for this year. If we were going to spend part of a day on it, where would you suggest we go to get a nice feel for what it’s like?
Palatka. Only day where you return to the same place you started from. Nice day trip down Dunn’s creek to Crescent City for lunch and back.
Looking forward to the Thursday night event!
Hey how about a live web feed for us that aren’t able to attend. I may get it a week late but it will be new to me!
Hope everyone has a safe trip and great time!
A live feed sounds great. I’ll shovel a space in the snow up here, fire up the grill, grab an adult beverage and toast you guys on the screen. A real/ virtual party.
I stand corrected. Besides the 17′ Sportsman there was a 18′ Deluxe Utility/Sportsman. Same year. Longer and wider. Whoda thunk.
I’ll be there in spirit(s).
I will be there Thursday for the party. I am already there in spirit and mind set ! No boat this year looking for a ride Friday.
I will be there, thanks for putting this on!
John in Va.
Me and my co-pilot will be there.
Looking forward to putting faces to names. 😉
we should have name tags with the sign on names here, and real name so we can put faces to names we are used to on this site….
I won’t be making the trip this year. Here is a little teaser for Paul and Karen. Enjoy the St John’s cruise.
Be there! With Curt & Marsha, and Tom & Janet. Flying longest distance?
Hey ! Great !…Look forward to seeing them…
Can’t leave Michigan until Wed AM so will have to hammer down to make it but will try.
JAG
Me and my woody boater friends will be there, What a great place for a party. Looking forward to some warm weather, beer, wood boats, and good food, not necessarily in that order.
You kids have fun in Florida while I go under the knife to have my back amputated.
Eat a shrimp on my behalf please
Great Picture Karen !!
Julie and I will be there, provided the ceased brakes on the trailer are fixed in time, had it checked out in the fall by professionals now I have to fix it and the brakes are on. Hopes the parts arrive tomorrow. taking the snows off the truck on Saturday.
We’ll be there! Truly looking forward to kick starting this new season. The winter here has been brutal! Snows are off and we’re raring to go. Dennis, you can get your Lyman fix in our Sleeper.
Looking forward to cool building and lots of OBF’s (Old Boat Farts). Cheers – heading south with Greavette in tow on Monday!
