Suzy And Team Make It Through The Day….With A Scratch!
If your name is Suzy.. It’s been a good day and well… At a cost.. Suzy… The boatress has finished her marathon day in NYC.. While Suzy.. The go to chris craft was doing show and fun duty at our local fundraiser in reedville for the save the stack effort. While suzy the boatress has had a rough time on the old feetaroonies.. Suzy the boat took a bad hit on the dock.. 30 mph wind gusts while trying to get her in the boat house.. Eeeeouch!!!! Not sure if there is a curse word that evokes my feeling on that one and no prouder feeling in what our Woodys for boobies team has accomplished ..
Whine, whine, Matt, boats don’t have feelings (that oughta start this thread!) . . . boats can be fixed . . . BUT Suzy’s blisters are OUCH! Thanks, Suzy, for taking one for the Team. Hope you can pad the damage enough to finish – if not, it’s the effort that counts. We in WoodyBoaterville applaud you, the Team and your combined efforts!
Tomorrow more of the same for Suzy.. The boatress.. Suzy the boat is being hauled out for the winter.. You can say we ended her summer with a bang!
Pulled my boat out last week. One last 5 mile drive up a mirror smooth lake at 40 mph at 10:00 thursday night. It was a surprisingly cool 46 and I was in shorts and a t shirt, but it was still a great ride, although a bitter sweet one at that.
I never fully enjoy putting in because there’s all the worries of “is everything ready” and “what brooke or is about to break” but I try to enjoy that last ride of the season as much as possible. Oh, and I didn’t add any NEW scratches, but I am not sure you would notice even if I did 🙂
We are all very pround of Suzy and her team in the marathon today and the contribution they made towards the fight against breast cancer – nice work everyone!
Matt – The damage is cosmetic and repairable, no grapefruit size holes or planks sticking out… so it could have been worse I guess… (easy for me to say)
It’s mostly cometic.. But on the transom a dent and took some wood on the edge . Should be fun actually to try and figure out how to repair.. Soak the dent…. Some clear filler and poof!
I pulled my Carver out today after a great ride, 2’whitecaps on the lake, 50 degrees, 20 mph wind but it was great. Hope your better half is better.
Comment 1) 3 pictures of your damaged boat and only 1 picture of your damaged boatress?
Comment 2) I had heard that Seth was going to be out with his wind machine this weekend trying to drum up a couple small winter projects….glad to see it worked!
Suzy didn’t pull out of the marathon, and you wimps are pulling your boats ahead of the beautiful fall cruising days.. Man up!
Go Boating!
Woring on the Mariner’s Museum get together….
John in Va.
You tell em John!!! 73 here today on SML and we had the whole gang of boy’s on the boat. What a day. I’m not hauling till I get that shot of Betsy coming to the dock in a snowstorm. THEN I’ll have my LAST GASP shot to turn in. Missed it by 10 days last year!
