They Just Don’t Know How To Stop Partying In Michigan!

It’s like a light switch goes on in June and everyone in the state of Michigan says. OK, I am going to be out on my boat for 3 months. Thanks to fellow Woody Boaters pat and Sheila Chaps we have this nice report in from The St Clair Antique/Classic Boat Show. They sent us almost every boat with captions, and I was supposed to not use one shot… But it was not numbered, so.. I have no idea what shot not to share! I wonder which one it could have been!!! And this weekend is the big Cruise for the cure on Torch lake, and then some “other” show that I am sure “Someone” will tell us about.
And the party/ slash boat show just keeps going on!
St Clair Michigan: Antique and classic boat enthusiasts took full advantage of a glorious day on the Pine River at the lovely St. Clair Boat Harbor in St. Clair, MI last weekend. ACBS boat owners took part in the city’s annual “Vintage Weekend” and hosted a show which featured a wide array of gleaming vessels on display or rocking gently in welcoming slips. Interested viewers and devoted fans of these classically crafted beauties strolled easily along floating docks and took delight in the multitude of classes represented, ranging from the original rustic wood carved duck boat, together with the sleek 30′ Fino, and in company with the stately 47′ Commander, to mention a few. Photos below provide a glimpse of more.

There are definitely party people in MI. Since I remember many of these boats from Algonac my personal theory is that they spend the entire summer partying on the St. Clair River and every couple of weeks come ashore for provisions and call that a show. My wife still talks about Canada Goose, thanks again Alex and Pat.

It’s a “weeder” course. I failed it once and had to re-take it.
If you think the people in Michigan only party from June through August, you need to visit them in September through May.
Pat and Sheila Chaps are the greatest couple on earth. When we got hotel plans messed up, and had no place for our little Schnauzer,Beemer to sleep.The Chaps opened up thier home for her to stay with them. They saved the weekend!!! And spoiled her overnight.
