We Hope You Have A Sparkling Good Time Today!
From time to time I come across some cool old ads, posters and general stuff that I like and think at some point would be a story. But maybe the story is in a collection of them, and how they speak to a time when ad images and copy were a little over the top. And in that is the fun!
We hope you are out there today and taking advantage of a warm day in April. Yesterday it was 84 here in Reedville.
I can now confirm that Matt isn’t always lying about the weather. It was 34 when we left Rochester and we saw temps in the high 80’s on our approach to Reedville. It’s weird down here. The clouds are blue and there is a super bright spot in the sky. And at night they have these things they call stars. Amazing!
Was Reedville formerly called Stepford? The boatress also seems to be unusually supportive of his excentricities.
You sure picked a good time to leave town. Forecast for tonite says freezing rain, we could get up to 1/2” ice accumulation. I’m headed out to the shop to sharpen the chainsaw and check the generator.
Wish I was there.
Currently 36° raining and windy here in Northern Illinois. Going boating today? 12-14′ waves on the big lake. Supposed to snow sometime soon.
Went boating yesterday! Windy but perfect otherwise.
How long is Mfine down here for? We should go to lunch or dinner?

I am in White Stone just south of Kilmarnock until Monday AM. My daughter is sailing in a regatta and I am looking for the best bacon in the north neck. I am about to head north to Reedville and see if I can sneak past the Woodyboater HQ security, and raise the ACPS flag.
no boating here for at least a few weeks temps still hovering around the freezing mark. ice ice bady so sad
Picture is out my balcony this morning. West Grand Traverse Bay in the background over the roof of the house. 8 inches of new snow, blizzard conditions and more snow to come this weekend. Can’t even get to the boat barn to work on the boat!!!!!

WCCO meteorologist Molly Rosenblatt says that area is likely to see 8 to 15 inches of snow — or even as much as 18 inches — by Sunday evening. The situation
I think the guy in the dinner jacket completely misunderstood when she said “Why don’t you show me your big johnson”. But he’s smoking…maybe he already did.
While Captain Nemo sharpens his chain saw, I am sharping my ice skates, so I can ice skate on my driveway later today…
Last year on this day my dock was in and I took Rabbit out for her first cruise. This year a foot of snow on the ground and two feet of ice on Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. There may be a gay new sparkle on the water but it’s kinda hard to see.
I think there is a story in the fact that those Johnson ads are on Aristocraft boats.
LOVE the Aristocrafts!

Why is that old fisherman painting a Cobra tail green…? 😉
