What The? Did You Know there Is A Huge Boat Show In A Couple Weeks? Who Knew?

Port Huron?
I just saw a little video about a huge boat show in Port Huron in a couple weeks? What? Why haven’t they promoted it? I mean, we would have been more than happy to let people know. The marketing dept of the Michigan Chapter at least could have commented in our comment section. Now I suppose I need to go.

Lots of cruisers will be there. OHHHH! Black Beauty!
According to the folks up there this show is full, and looks like the largest show in ACBS history! I wonder how they pulled that off without strong marketing… FOR OVER A YEAR! Are you going? Or should I say, are you the one person NOT going? We look forward to seeing you all there.

Looks like a lot of fun!
I have been looking forward to this show all year long!
Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I will not be able to make it.
I wonder if there will be any Riva’s at the show?
Or Donzi’s for that matter.
Troy, Good to see you back in action. We have not seen any of your “American Beauty”pics in a while. It wakes us up in the mornings.
Troy,
Sorry you can’t make it. Just to help out send your credit card and I will personally see some hefty bar bills get charged to it. Just like if you were there!
Hi Matt. We did our best to get the word out because it will be something that you will not want to miss. We and the ACBS have put together a week of great events. The response has been terrific and we therefore find ourselves sold out for the on water pre events. Now Troy has put the final graphic imaging on our advertising! See you all at “Boat the Blue”!
Having boated in this area for over 50 years I can say that the water is truly this blue. The light ship “Huron” seen in the picture above used to be anchored in Lake Huron to mark the southbound freighter channel into the Saint Clair River. It was not considered good duty for the Coast Guard personnel who had to sit on this small ship in all kinds of weather.
For those bringing your boat to the show and not familiar with the Saint Clair River there is a good 4-5 knot current running southbound under the Blue Water bridge. Nothing tricky as it is a wide river but something to be aware of.
“In The Mood” is in the shop getting an “makeover” before the big show. With close to 190 boats it should be an amazing show.
I am still looking for the right boat to buy for this event and now you tell me it is sold out?
I am still working on logistics, but hoping to get there for Friday and Saturday at least.
……a bacon scented PennYan perhaps?
No! I can bring bacon products into Canada, but the US won’t let me bring it back in.
The Andrew J will be there all prettied up..jump in TH afternoon… oh by the way… she is for sale!
how much? email me rrush1631@comcast.net
Maybe you’ll find the right boat for sale at the show.
Again! Where and when is this show?
Seems if they wanted anybody to come they would have mentioned it…and even better, held it on Lake Okechobee, the country’s largest inland lake rather than in some obscure lake up North.
This guy hadn’t heard about the show….
There is nothing more beautiful than crossing at Sarnia coming back into the good ol’ USA to Port Huron over the Blue Water Bridge. Nothing against Canada (unless you’re trying to fuel up your 40 gallon gas tanks there $$$). The water is a Caribbean blue I’ve never seen anywhere else in US and this picture really doesn’t capture it but all my pictures of the crossing are tied up in a frozen PC.
We will be there Wednesday night thru Sunday. In the Vendor area with the Whaler, promoting Great Lakes Scuttlebutt Boating Magazines, stop by and say hi.
I have been over that bridge a 1000 times but had never been on the water below it. This past June that changed and what a great body of water it was to boat.
Blue water and clear. You will enjoy seeing the bottom at 20-25′ deep
Only the pre-events from 9/9-9/12/2018 are sold out. You can still register for the Annual Meeting and Boat Show and bring a boat. However, there is a hard deadline of 8/31/2018 to register and still be in time to have your boat judged. Annual Meeting is 9/13/2018 and the Show is 9/14-9/15/2018. I’ll be there with “Little Blue” in the water. It will definitely be one of the smallest powered boats registered as it’s a 14’ 1966 MFG Niagara.
