Original Santa Maria Woody Boat To Be Auctioned Off At Warner Auction.
Less than one week until the big Warner Collection Auction and Mecum unveils a crowd shocker clearly designed to increase the hype regarding the big event.. Secretly stored away for years…centuries, by the Warner family.. The original un restored Santa Maria.. Turns out F Todd is from a long line of wood boat collectors.. more proof that this disease is genetic. Found in a Marina in spain in the 1500’s rotting away and being used as a sign for a restaurant.. Senior Del a Warner – F Todds, great great great grandfather saved it. Knowing that one day he might get around to restoring her.. Or not.. So fast forward to October 16th 2010.. Mixed in with brand new boats in comparison, she is to be auction off. With NO RESERVE! That means you may be able to buy it for the same price that old Senior Dela Warner got it for.. No trailer is included.. Happy bidding. And Happy Columbus Day!
Matt, you've got to open more windows when you varnish. LOL
I received my copy of the boats to be auctioned off and did not see this 'ship' listed. You posted questions earlier last week about the auction. One was about the possibility of 'others' selling their boats, other than Warners at the auction. Is this one of those boats?
Woody,
Will you be sharing the confirming documention you require on other famous boats or has Pat Curtin already confirmed it is "THE" boat?
Yes.
And happy Leif Erikson day to all of you…:-)
I'm with Rick
I wanted the Nina!!!
I heard somewhere that the Nina was restored with incorrect wood and hardware, and was repowered with modern (1600's) sails. The Santa Maria may be a better bet…
Sorry fellas, the sails were removed and will be selling separately. One at a time!
