35 Years In The Blink Of An Eye

35 years ago today

35 years ago, the Boatress and I tied the knot. See, I made this a boat story.. Knot.. 35 years ago she said YES, and has been saying No ever since. But that one YES, has been the gift of my life. The No’s just keep me focused, cause I say yes to everything. So we are a match made in Yes No Heaven, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My boss

I know many think I am a pig, maybe a little to brash, offensive, sexist, rude, ignorant, clueless, old. And to them I say YES! I always do, but to my bride, my sidekick, my love of my life, my other side, my heart, my wings, and my sunshine, she would say…… YES to me privately. But I warn you all, and you have seen it. Don’t call me a bad Captain. Oh it was in a comment section years ago. Forgot about it? She hasnt.. And so it goes. 35 years of fun, so fast, so happy.

My only mate.. See back to boating puns

Reading Woodyboater over the years I would say Suzy is your anchor! And Matt was smart, he had a holiday to remember his Anniversary.
Merry Christmas to all in Woodyboaterville!!

You’ve got a couple of boats, the Marine Railway and a couple of kids. The Boatress must say yes sometimes. Happy Anniversary.

Congratulations, I thought at first with all the Susie praise the story was a big lead up to you bought a boat or something and were softening the reveal.

    35 years is pretty cool.

Congrats to you both. Our anniversary too is on a national holiday. November 11th is armistice day and we have declared a truce every year for 54 years. I too have a forgiving wife and mate.
    Merry Christmas to all!

I do have to ask though, if the Boatress is 39 and you have been married 35 years, does that mean she was only four when you married her?

Just remember A couple that boats together stays together. We just celebrated 36 years last summer. Also a notable day, July 20 the same day man landed on the moon. One small step for Mark, one giant leap for bachelors everywhere.
    Merry Christmas to all🎄🎅

Congratulations to you both and here’s to many more years together as a team!!!
I believe any man who gets lucky enough to find their soul mate and share the rest of their lives together are very blessed indeed.
It’s true that behind every successful man is a woman who knows what she’s doing. Yes, they say yes to a lot of stupid stuff for us (a railway and a marina come to mind…..), but they have our back and stay by our side.
After 37 years, I have absolutely NO idea what I would do without Patti.
Men never grow up, we all have ADD, we have no intuition, we’ll really never know what women want, they are the “ying” to our “yang”, they “gift” us with children when all we really wanted was a good dog, we grow old as one, we can start and finish each other’s thoughts and we work through the ups and downs of life as a team. And if men are really lucky and they don’t throw us out just based on “stupid” points, they’ll keep us around just for the color commentary later in life………
I tell every young man planning on getting married, you can either choose to be “right” or you can choose to be “happy”. Choose “happy” young grasshopper and you will always be happy. And live longer………
So here’s to you and the Boatress Matt, you are a very lucky man and blessed indeed!!!

You may think you are the Captain, but she is the Navigator, helps maintain your course, and keeps you on an even keel.
A reminder to buy her some roses today!

    Congratulations you two!
