In a hobby, passion, business that is all about not changing, it’s even more special. Matt’s a great guy who is dead serious about continuing and growing the fantastic reputation of the Antique Boat Center. From our conversations in Tavares, there is some cool new stuff in play. Anyway, I could go on and on, but its kinda repetitive and they wrote,a nd spelled it better in there, thier… official press release.. Happy reading.
Cincinnati Ohio:
The Antique Boat Center is excited to announce several recent changes that will further enhance services to our customers and build our organization for its next 25 years for both our local and international markets.
As of the first of the year, Matt Balogh was named President of Antique Boat Center and Modern Marine Center (MMC). Matt brings over 20 years of experience in the Marine Industry with a great passion that blends the old and the new into the boating experience. Matt’s leadership guarantees a great mix of spirit, sales experience, and customer focus to ABC/MMC. Matt is replacing Dennis Ryan (The Captain) who is assuming the role of CEO. Lou Rauh the founder of Antique Boat Center (ABC) will serve as Chairman. Both Lou and Dennis will remain highly active as they help Matt to lead ABC.
In addition to the new roles, Rob Lyons has joined ABC as a new Partner and is supporting our business growth and sustainability. Rob joins us with over 30 years business leadership experience and is an avid boater and collector.
We at ABC are delighted and saddened at the same time to announce the retirement of Joel Terbrueggen as of May 31, 2014. Joel has been a partner and leader at ABC for over 13 years. Over that time he has been an integral part of our success and contributed greatly to the antique and classic boat business and hobby. His unselfish sharing of expertise and skills has been the hallmark of his career. Although planning to enjoy his time away from ABC, Joel will continue supporting us on special projects that require his vast knowledge.
We are also happy to announce that Jeremy Bragg has been promoted to Shop Manager with responsibility for all service and restoration work. Jeremy’s 12 years at ABC have played an integral part in the success and quality of work performed by us. His innovation and attention to detail is essential to our service organization. We are looking forward to Jeremy’s leadership of our highly skilled and knowledgeable service team.

Lou, Jeremy and Dennis at the wheel all headed out for a fun drive. This gang at Antique Boat Center and Modern Boat Center are more than co workers They are pals.. Good folks that do good work, for good customers.. All good
One of our old teammates, Jim Barach, is returning to ABC replacing Matt as General Sales Manager. Jim brings back his many years of experience in the antique and modern marine business as he leads the sales staff as they support our customers with sales, service and restoration. Jim like Matt has a great passion for the old and the new. His contagious enthusiasm is a welcome return.
These changes enable ABC to sustain their industry leading sales and service reputation, while expanding service offerings to boat enthusiasts worldwide. MMC is now positioned to provide the same high level of sales and service to the boating community. Please watch in the upcoming weeks as ABC and MMC will be announcing
I remember when I used to know Dennis, back when he called it the pointy end.
Looks like Dennis would have at least combed his hair for that picture ha
So does this mean Marg has some things for Lou to do at home ???
The Antique Boat Center represents an incredible group of folks. Their commitment to quality and the level of professionalism at which they operate is unsurpassed. If there’s anyone out there looking for someone to solve problems (like I was), I’d highly recommend that they consider this group’s vast collection of experience and knowledge.
Congratulations to Joel Terbrueggen on his retirement, he sure is/was a great guy to know and learn from. I’ll miss getting updates from him when I’d stop in to visit. The good thing is ABC is run like a successful business, that means I’m really going to miss the inside tours Joel use to give me. Damn progress. I remember when Jeremy was just a “kid” coming to work there “rolling coal” in his red Dodge diesel, lol. Now he’s all grown up and responsible. Wow, time flies
