Larry? Larry? Is It Ok If We Change The Carpeting?
Tomorrow, Woody Gal, Daniel, Jimmy and I set sail for Katz’s Marina to talk to Larry about his beloved Pumpkin. We are at the stage where choices need to be made regarding finish, engine and stuff. All of it was shot, engine was frozen, out drive beyond shot and interior not good! In other words its going to get the full scale Katz’s treatment.. We know it will be insane nice. Dave Van Ness is already torn apart the monster 454, a new out drive is also in the works. But some cosmetic issues need to be adressed, and for that we need Larry. So we are going to involve him through Woody Gal, and the Ouija Board. Hey, got a better idea? We have some new carpet ideas, paint adjustment and horse power options to discuss. We will of course let you know how it goes. Are there any questions that you want us to ask Larry? I am sure he will be happy to hear from you?
You’re missing a media opportunity here. TV and the Long Island Medium. This might just be the ticket to get me to actually watch that show. Besides I never trusted that the other person wasn’t moving that Ouija board thingy ever since it told me I had to rub my wife’s feet every night forever.

I can’t imagine the entire drive unit was shot. New bearings, wear rings and impellers should have it better than new in no time. As for the carpet, just remember shag doesn’t work well in boats.
You do know that shag is what’s correct for that model right? Not that it matters much for Pumpkin because she was made custom from the get-go. By the way, the shag in mine dries surprisingly quickly. There’s so little of it in such a small boat, and what’s there is pretty well exposed to the elements, so wind and sun get to it.
