Meet “Bruiser”, The Newest Member Of The Woody Boater Family!

Bruiser showing his love.
Say hello to Bruiser, 4.3 lbs of pure energy and trouble. Nothing is safe around the house, car, boat, barn. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Bruiser is pure party animal and has zero fear, which of course scares us. And at 8 weeks old is already humping his bed. So? Ya? he has a little Troy in there somewhere. I suppose I will start seeing girly dog photos with sausages all around them soon on his little ipawd.

mmmm, she looks rather happy like this.
Anyway, back to the Little Man! He is a Poodle mix thing, A Designer Mutt and so watching him grow here into his large paws is going to be fun. Some of you may have noticed on instagram we have named him several times. Sonny Blue, Gomer But man oh little man, he has earned the name Bruiser. And he is already black and Blue. It’s been his knick name from the second I saw him. and we just called him this regardless of his name. So now his legal name. It’s the name he wanted.

He’s a sniffer

An early riser – This was 2 AM It’s now 3 AM when I am writing this

A Ladies man

And 100% Bruiser
Of course Bruiser is 100% a Woody Boater already. We are even going to start him eating right as soon as he can.

Lil Chick on a Stick! Made in Virginia BTW.

Party hard, sleep hard

Yes he has one Blue eye, and one Brown eye.

On the run

He is very fast

Attack

Bruiser on the hunt for blades of grass and leaves.

One more jump

He loves to yap
He is everything you pray your dog isn’t, and he brings me great joy. I laugh at him every second of his ankle biting awakeness.

Aaaaaaand a good Nap! Shhhhhh, it’s now 4 AM, I may go do the same!
You did not mention his “boat dog” instruction. I hope that is a mandatory part of his training.
Wait, what? Bruiser, Dogs, what is this WoodyBarker?
Excuse me but I am just waking up from that crazy party Thursday. What happened to Friday? I guess I will have to go back and read about it.
Send him over. I could use a new play toy/buddy. This one is not really fun anymore.
I think you meant to say, he has two brown eyes.
Just got our 4 pounder a month ago, Maya. Making a great sister.
Nope, one brown, one blue.
Haha yep one blue and 2 brown
With two different color eyes I would have named him David Bowie
Here you go Bilge Rat!
One of my favorite Bowie tunes.
I had a friend in high school with one blue and one brown eye.
Cute little todger.Love the blue eye. When you get used to that look-Look at em in the rear-view mirror- that blue eye’ll look like a spotlight.
Ok, so today I am Going Boating because my semi feral, comes in the shop at night, CAT, has sprayed again…..awful … worse than the smell of fiberglass resin… almost….
John in Va.
TNR!
John,
We have a colony of ferals here that we take care of. If you can trap him, take him to get TNR (Trap Neuter Release). There are probably county or rescue groups down your way that have arrangements with Vets for low cost TNR. And they will get a rabies shot and feline distemper and quick checkup. Weve done over twenty and it REALLY cuts down on aggression and SPRAYING… Under $50 a cat and youll notice a nicer Shop cat as well !
I converted an abandoned semi-feral to a great Shop Cat who now provides rodent control (no more mouse nests in expensive stored upholstery) in the Boat Barn/Shop. I do have to lock him out if im doing any finish work or else Ill have paw prints… The dog and cat hair in my varnish jobs are part of the joy of having pets, as are the scratch marks on the varnish…
Bruiser is not a mutt. He’s a Troy Terrier.
Congratulations on your new child!
I am having a hard time imagining a 4 lb puppy. Tobler was once barely over 8 lbs but that only lasted a few minutes!
It turns out, they both got bigger.
Tobler also REALLY likes to go for walks after work. I don’t always look forward to them the way he does. Take yesterday evening for example… I guess you won’t have this problem too often in Virginia!
That is a cute little puppy. Great pictures! If you ever lose your day job, you can also be a puppy photographer for sure! We welcomed a little golden doodle to our household a few months back. She is growing like crazy.
Congratulations on the new family member! Having been without any pets for a number of years – (too many predators in the neighborhood, for one thing) – our Granddaughter decided that Grandma and Grandpa needed a pet and her friends cat just happened to have a new litter… So we now have Gus, a Russian Blue/Tabby mix who is about 14 weeks old and full of it! Our legs, arms hands and back will never be the same! He’s a climber! We’ll need to keep him indoors, but he is bringing so much fun and entertainment daily, we are very happy to have him! 🙂
Wouldn’t it be nice to know that maybe your biggest boating expense in 2021 will be a couple of doggie life jackets!
Congratulations on Bruiser your new family member, this is Fred weighing in at 3.7 lb and 8 weeks he’s a standard wired haired dachshund our neighbours dog is called Barney so we have the Flintstones now.
Good luck with Bruiser, hope you don’t have to many sleepless nights.
