Second-to-Potentially The Last Gasp

Woody Boaters

We aren’t throwing in the towel yet for the season! But oh man this weather ain’t helping the case.

Hey everyone, Hank here. I’m jumping in this week while my dad is at a work event.

Anyways, since my last trip recounting my cross-country trip, my wife (Suzy2), our dog, Ziggy, and myself have made our way from Breckenridge to Woody Boater HQ in Virginia.

Despite the endless rain, we’ve had a few glimpses of sun during our 1-Year Anniversary back in the US.

And just like that, after sitting in VA for a week – we had a wonderful sunset cruise!

All dogs aboard and accounted for. Grandma too!

It looks like this will be a 2nd year in a row without splashing the continental. Too many family commitments and other projects. I thought I would have so much time to do the things I love during retirement, but I am busier now than ever. Maybe next year…

Funny weather patterns. We are finishing up our second driest September since records started in 1871.

It’s a funny time of the year. In northern lower Michigan we have bright sunny skies and mid-seventies all week. The sad part is that at least half of the boats have already been pulled and winterized already.

Went for a nice 800 RPM cruise yesterday afternoon in the ’56 Sportsman on the west branch of Keuka. Flat water, almost no other boats, and t-shirt and shorts temps. Was going to pull and winterize it today, but the weekend is supposed to be beautiful, so we’ll put it off a few more days. Biggest concern is getting the boat out of the hoist. Like M-Fine said, it’s been really dry and the lake is low.

Hey Ron! We gotta give Chelan another shot. Was a cool lake but the towns all seemed dead for the season
