Really? You Have Got To Be Kidding.

High tides – AGAIN
Really? Super high tides! What the hell? Here I was, all ready to close the laptop and step away. Went out to the dock and… what dock? Where did all the docks go? Now, the old, younger Matt would have thrown on his rubber boots and just winged it. Yes, running a power lift while standing in water. Not old me. The older… wiser… wait. Where am I?

Yesterday around 11AM
Anyway, Mother Nature is paying me back for spending last week playing around with artificial nature. Bringing back dead people and talking dogs. And the real world, reminding me of its true power, shut my old saggy ass down with one simple move. An ironic one, BTW. Too much water.

The Boatress, funny how one letter typo can mean so much and yet mean the same thing – Life-Wife, Photo- Cannon Beach Oregon
So today, I’m not gonna fall for it again. I’m gonna spend the day with something real. The Boatress. We’re gonna go for a drive. Be together. Laugh. Be human. Although she may get a little irritated by the prompts I’ve taught myself to use…

We love just going out and driving or go for a boat ride – today its the car!
The Prompt – “Act as my wife of 40 years. Let’s have a natural, authentic conversation. Keep your responses warm, funny, and consistent with our previous conversations. Suggest somewhere to eat based on preferences I should already know. When I ask what’s wrong and you say ‘nothing,’ please provide additional context.” – I’ll know I’m still in AI land if she agrees with me.

Roadtrip from 2016 – years ago on rt 66, driving back from California. We bought the Beetle in California and drove it back. SPONTANEOUSLY! Here is that story

I’m glad I am not the only one that has run corded power equipment while standing in water to my knees. Oh, to be young again!
“running corded power equipment while standing in water…”
You two have fun today!
Those “prompts” sound familiar. Wait til you have grandchildren, they’ll be no time for AI. And since my son with 18 month old twins and a son due 12/7, having sold his new house to move within 2 miles of us in a 40 year old house, it’s constant upgrades or repairs: Stairs ripped out and reconfigured, master bath remodeled, 2 doorways moved, 12’ closet added/built, 2nd bath new vanity replumbed, decks surface repaired, carpets ripped out, and water heater closet gutted and moved. I think I could have restored a boat in the last 8 months I did all that.
Beautiful picture of the Boatress by the way. Those winds were the bane of my 46 mile bike race all day Saturday. 😤. Nothing but headwinds.
Oh Matt! Of all people, I can certainly empathize what high water does to an operation!!! This past Spring is one I never want to repeat!
That said, your best idea today is to get away and hit the road with your bestie!
After forty-five years together, Patti is, was and always will be, the best thing that ever happened to me! Everything else is just “white noise”!
You know, an analog term…..😊
Thats a great pic
I second that!
Oh yes, great Pic of Suzy and road trip a fine idea…(get the v8?…naw…stay in ole Va) Just got back from SW Va driving trip…no interstate…all mountain switch backs…Must see places in Va for all you readers: Paint Bank Va…look it up…stay in restored Caboose, Mountain Lake Va…no water but amazing, one of only two natural lakes in all of Va…coming back, may take a century. Natural Bridge Va…nuff said of famous place…but the crown jewel BURKES GARDEN va.
John in Va!
I was about to donate some new dead stock green shag carpeting to the Railway. I guess that wouldn’t be a good idea.
Sitting outside on a beautiful MI fall day. Watching my grandsons race Power Wheels, while Crew Chief & our son work on the next generation of MINI Cooper race car. Arisrocraft is tucked in for the winter. Malibu is still on the lift, hoping for one last run.
thats what life is all about
