Why is is all water in here?
Well there a line you don’t hear a lot. To all my pals out west, I am sorry you all are dealing with the hurricane stuff. Seems like it’s always something. It is that time of year when the weather just gets all wonky, then insane nice. Like a bipolar weather, not in the sense of rapid change, just the extreme part. Hey it could be Murder Hornets. Or that fungus thats eating our brains, or what ever micro chip is in a vaccine these days. Hold on, I think the NSA is listening to me writing this… JOKES ON THEM!

Anyway, here in Reedville, Mid Atlantic area, we got water, a good old Nor’easter, which can be worse than a Hurricane because ya don’t take is seriously and the water is the problem. Like cray cray tides. And tides means, water in HQ, and dock boards floating around the creek. I am out 15 so far. Hey, I got 6 docks, and it’s like working on a bridge. Anyway, the good news is if you look around, all the boards are up in folks yard.

The new windows look great reflecting light into the indoor pool situ we got going on here.
At least the floors will be clean. Note- The floor is concrete under two layers of presure treated plywood. The plywood drys out fine.

You sure maintain a positive attitude while dealing with that situation. Worse than our Spring rains of 2023. I hope it goes away soon and good luck with the clean up and repairs!
I happen to be in Matt’s neck of the woods(about an hour away) on vacation with the kids this week. Being from Michigan, I have to say, this weather is a bit weird for me. The tides have been pretty high. Things like, taking out the trash at low tide, same thing with getting in the van and going somewhere…unless you don’t mind walking through the water to get to the van. At low tide we have a yard, while at high tide we are surrounded by water. All kinds of “stuff” are washed up into the yard from the bay, but no treasures yet! Then there’s the wind, unlike Michigan, this stuff hasn’t stopped for days! I do enjoy it though! This is a pretty special place!
I almost forgot, the power was off for a while, but I believe that the gale warning has been lifted!
Matt, does you place always smell like Brackish ass?
I was going to suggest some new shag carpeting as the next Railway enhancement. Maybe that wouldn’t be a good idea.
Our lake came up 45″ in 5 hours last week. Had to take apart the lift canopy to get the ’56 Continental out.

One thing about salt water, we down in Louisiana have to hose everything off after one of these tides and south east winds that push the water in over everything. Bad problem with it is that the salt stays on what it soaks and then all of the tools rust. I usually keep my tools sprayed with WD-40 at least the salt doesn’t stick to the metal. With hurricanes we also have to shovel the mud off of the slab under the camp. No hurricanes this year!
